Starturn 4 Spindle motor controller

Post by flyingmike » Mon 09 Apr , 2012 20:06 pm

Does anyone know if an emergency stop can be incorporated into the spindle controller. There is a unused pair of pins coming out of the controller and I was wondering if this was some kind of inhibit terminal like I have on another DC motor controller.

What is that controller - is there any i.d. on the silkscreen ?
If it's a Jay Electronics, I could never find much info on it in the past.
Have a look through the electrical drawings for the starturns, the terminals may still be marked up even if they're not used.

From the looks of it, I doubt it will have an inhibit input. It's more likely to run as soon as main power is applied to it (via a 10amp relay possibly)

I have it running ok. I added a relay in so I could use the original on/off buttons on the front panel, the original relay being on the control board that is now removed. I`m just thinking of different ways to interface an emergency stop in to the motor control.
