trouble homing my machine

Post by jmeide » Wed 07 Oct , 2015 17:54 pm

I am having trouble homing my Z axis. When starting mymachine normally and pressing the xyz home button the z axzis seems locked but the screen shows the z axis digitally cycling.
I've vaced out the micro switch well. I've tried manually turning the threaded axis rod and noted it is VERY difficult to rotate by hand. Any ideas?

Is the motor trying to turn at this point?

Can you home the X & Z axis?

Hi Martin, seems x and y home normally. Trying to hand turn the z threaded drive is nearly impossible. X and Y threaded drives turn easily by hand when the machine is off. When the digital read out indicated that z is homing there is no indication that the motor is trying to turn- no binding sound or other.
Have you experienced this before?

For an unexplainable reason the z-axis began operating normally again.
