Orac tool changer problem

Post by dwynkoop » Tue 06 Nov , 2007 20:10 pm

The tool changer will not stop. As soon as you turn on the machine it starts rotating though the tools. Any sugestion on how to fix. All the wires seem to be connected and the dead man switch is not stuck.

Is it turning slow or fast?

If you hold in the manual switch does it change direction? & does it speed it up.

It may be that the toolpost motor is wired the wrong way round. If it is it may be easier to remove the heat sink from the motor & swap the two wires over.

It was working but now it just turns constant and doesnt reverse to stall out. The dead man doesnt do anything its dead. It use to activate the tool changer to the next tool then rev. and stall out. Its turning slow as if to change tools and is going in the correct direction.

At the same time in manual mode when i turn on the spindal it revs up to max rpm then goes back to 370 on its own. The speed control buttons are not working at all.

Every thing was working fine last week. Starting to think I have a short some where.
