Hello-
Due to a HoD whose focus is elsewhere, I'm looking for a FREE piece of software that will do a 2/2.5D toolpath (*.fnc) that I can run in VR Milling on my Novamill. I know QuickCAM Pro (which we have) will do a waterline cut that will emulate this, but I'm looking for a simpler option. Is there some Freeware that will run the Novamill directly? Any ideas?
Thanks
PS: For what it's worth, how much is a license for QuickCAM 2D?

Re: Alternative to QuickCAM 2D?
Do you have Techsoft already in the school ?
The older version (v1 I think) will output an .fnc file directly
Newer versions will create a .dxf file which can be imported into the VR Milling v5 CAM wizard.
In fact, any CAD system you have can create a 2D .dxf which can be imported

That's absolutely fantastic, just what I wanted to hear. Well done Denford!
That dxf wizard does exactly what is required, and saves having to faff about with yet another piece of software.
