Novamill spindle speed audibly hunting...

Post by bpmsl » Wed 07 Mar , 2012 13:42 pm

Having replace my original control box with my spare, the spindle speed is hunting slightly (at 5000RPM not run it at a different speed as cut one part since) it's only notible audibly, but I was wondering if this may be a tel-tale of a potential failure, or may be related the spindle drive / control card failure on my origional box?

I've still not had time to look into repairing my origional control box to identify what the failure was.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Cheers
Barry

Have a look at the motor brushes..
I can't remember if there is a tacho on the Novamill motor, I'd also check the tacho brushes as well (if it's wired up to the drive)

There is no tacho on a Novamill.
