Novamill automatic indexing 4th axis (3.5 axis) + M62/4

Post by bpmsl » Mon 13 Nov , 2017 0:13 am

Hi,
I am building an arduino 4th axis indexer (http://www.liming.org/millindex/) and am hoping to integrate it with my mill via a pulse from the Aux outputs (Aux 1 M62 on M64 off), is this viable? If not it'll be a manual step in the machining process, and after getting a prototype tool changer working this seems like a bit of a backwards step.

I was hoping to get the mill to wait for the indexer to declare its finished its move via an aux input, however the "Wait for..." m codes talk about Aux output On/Off (M66/M76) rather than inputs. Is this a typo, or am I missing something?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks
Barry M

M62 Aux out 1 on
M64 Aux out 1 off
M66 Wait for Aux 1 input on
M76 Wait for Aux 1 input off

You may need to add the wiring for the Aux port.
