This looks like its a CONECT Router. We did a VR Milling software version for this machine at one time, I think it needed an EPROM upgrade as well to get the VR Milling software to run.

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

It sounds like the guy already has the version of VRMilling v2 which will connect to the Conect machines, so the EPROM must be up to date.
I must say that these machines work ok, but there is no chance of it 3D contouring at any speed - its a simple RS232 command system that takes one move at a time...unless you upgrade it to a Mach 3 system and update the motors and drives
