Error: Move Buffer Full

Post by AliveOak » Fri 19 Jan , 2018 11:07 am

Hi,

I am getting an error box when running a program that says "Error: Move Buffer Full".

The feed rate is automatically set to zero and the machine just sits there with the spindle still running. If I press OK, the program begins again but not for long and the error code appears again.

I have tried reloading VRMilling with no effect but can't figure out if it's a CNC problem or a PC problem. Before I do a complete reinstall on my PC, I thought I would check if anyone else has seen this?

Many thanks in advance.
Pete

I don't know if this could be your problem but a software company I used to work for had issues with IIRC FTDI USB to serial converters in that the driver had a latency setting and it defaulted to a value which caused issues when communicating at 115k baud. The driver buffered the data and sent it as a block which caused issues, the solution was to go into control panel and access the driver details and you could change the latency and setting it to the lowest value solved the problem. This maybe an issue with purely USB comms also but I haven't any experience of that.

That's excellent. Thank you.

It would seem that there are many issues encountered on this forum that can be put down to static build-up. How does everyone prevent or counteract this? Any cool tips n' tricks?

Message of gratitude to DavidB above. His fix in the control panel changing the latency totally worked. Very pleased. Many thanks. Pete

Update: It's started again. The previous fix was only temporary and no longer works. Sorry. :(

Fix Update: Replaced the USB AB Comms lead. Machine is now flying. Simple as that. 8)

Also, blow out computer with air hose. Was an amazing amount of oak dust in there. Probably interrupting coms.
