Unrecognised error (code 15874), Must use a setXXXLink funct

Hi,
Upgrading computer on my Microrouter Pro NS v5 Microstep. The original PC was fine but running XP and RS232 and I wanted to run it with a 64bit PC so I can have Fusion on it with Win10. As I have the USB board I added a bulkhead back to back USB and an internal lead.
Installed current verion of VR5 as 64bit USB.
Fired up the PC, ran VR, fired up Microrouter (waited for the timers to click through), plugged USB in. gave it a min or two (win10 did its beep thing), clicked connect to machine. got the 'error code 15874', clicked ok and tried to home, got the 'must have a setXXXLink function'. Clicked the disconnect machine, got the setXXXLink again, shut down VR5. ran easy upgrader it finds the machine no problem and reports all up to date.

Read a recent post posting.php?mode=reply&f=36&t=5489 and the recommendation that the USB 64bit needs installing (did that already).

Baldor shows up as a USB device in the click to eject part of windows 10.
Looking in task manager it indicates that VR5 is 32bit not 64bit yet I definitely selected the 64bit USB at installation.

Ran up the original PC and RS232, works no problem and easy updater reports the same.

Is there a specific instalation/plugin/turn on order to get it all to work via USB or is something else a miss.

Thanks

Pete

What version of VRMilling have you installed.

The latest version is 5.66 & can be downloaded from the Denford website.

Latest version dloaded for the install. reboots between each test too.

Did the USB installation modification (uncertified drivers) tried again. no joy.
It works in easy upgrader no problem and everything is seen in device manager. (the installation looked to go through in the same way as it had 1st time)

tried it with the RS232 lead and it did the same errors.

uninstalled VR5,

Re installed (did not install the USB driver again, wasn't sure if following the uninstall it would be removed too)

Tried on RS232, worked fine.

disconnected machine, plugged in the USB and all worked fine!

Not sure what or quite how the problem resolved, but I have at least been able to test it all the way with the latest version, RS232 and USB. So i know all it good. I can now sort out my way forward with the machine. Need to get back to the Starturn 5 now and workout what to do with that.
