Puling 12v/5v off Micromill/Microturn

I'm in the process of converting a micromil/microturn to Mach3

The conversion is all good but sadly the Breakout board requires two power sources a 5V and a 12v supply.

Anyone got a good way of going about this?

I've got the original Baldor board still in there and I'm driving everything off the pins.

To be honest I've seen I can get 5v off A1/A3 but wasn't too sure if also attempting to pull 12v off the Baldor board would be safe too?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

have a good search on here, there have been several people who have done conversions over the years they may well have documented the info you need. Pretty much all machines use the same control so don't limit yourself to the micromill/turn threads.

Depending on the board these may help as I posted them earlier on another thread Nextmove ST http://www.abbmotion.com/support/suppor ... _01-10.pdf and the other Baldor board used Smartstep https://www.baldor.com/Shared/manuals/1251-396.pdf . Both give the current rating for the 12V stabilised supply on the boards. IIRC the 12V required by the BOB is normally used for the opto isolated 0-10V output.
