I recently bought a MicroMill from a friend which upgraded. I have researched for the past 3 weeks and found a lot of information. Information regarding the Sherline unit, capabilities etc. I know there is a similar thread with a model very much like mine, but they didn't elaborate much just that it is a Sherline unit. Im in the process of setting up the Mill and need help deciding these few things. I have not found solid answers on the questions below.
-What version is this? What version of VR is compatible with this board?
-Do I have to run Windows 98 or is XP possible with this board?
-I will use SolidWorks & SolidCAM for my parts. Any problems with these software?
-Anything that you think might be missing on the board itself.
The machine is in great shape and look forward to do some prototyping with it. Any help on these images would be great and greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The control Card is a Denstep but I cant see what is printed on the Yellow label on the EPROM in the middle of the control card. This will dictate the software required.
The Serial number plate would normally say the software version supplied.
Do you have the software with the machine? If not its somthing you would have to buy unless its DOS (available as a free download)

Thanks for the info. Ill see if I can grab some quality pictures of the yellow label. I think DOS might be available for free download because it seems to be an older model it runs on VR version 2 not 5.

If it has an EPROM for VR Milling 2 or 5 then it will not run dos.
You either need the supplied software or would have to purchase a new licence.
