Micromill Problem

Post by kestech » Thu 23 Jul , 2009 16:00 pm

I have a AES TechCenter 21 Micromill that was purchased as a Demo unit with a 1 year warranty before the US office closed. I have talked to Steve about it because the Y axis was not moving. I have since got it to move since loosening the jib, as Steve suggested. My problem now is when I try to home y, instead of moving towards the home, limit switch it moves away until it can't move anymore. What can I do here to correct this?

Thank you!

Hi,

Having just spoken to you I can confirm that the Y home switch apears to be the problem.

The machine should drive towards the microswitch at a high speed then when the switch is hit (breaking the contact) it slows down then reverses at a slow feed. Once off the switch the contact recloses and the axis is at home.

I understand you have a spare switch so let me know how you get on.

The problem still existed after changing the y home switch.

On further investigation the problem was found to be a loose wire on the home switch where they enter into the Nextmove card.
