Ordering Replacement Parts

Post by Greekgod1820 » Tue 14 Jul , 2009 16:15 pm

Hello,

I have 3 Denford MicroMills and 3 Denford MicroLathe's and most of them need replacement parts ordered. Specificaly the coupler between the mottor and the drive for the Z-axis on the mill. Where can you order replacment parts from, I cant find it on the denford site and have even searched google.

Thanks

As Graham says we do not list every item we stock in our price book.

We still manufacture the MicroMill and Turn and do stock most of the parts you may need.

If you can provide a full description of the parts you need and if possible photos then we can price them up for you and give you product codes as well.

For replacement mechanical parts for the machines you may be better to go direct to Sherline if you are located in the states

You can find full exploded diagrams of the machines on thier site with parts list and pricing.

The motor coupling is supplied by Sherline but is not shown in the exploded diagrams. Am not sure of the number but they will know.

We do have stock of these but they will have to ship from the UK which could be expensive.

First thank you both very much for your help. Bellow are photos for helping ID the part:

This is where the broken part came out of. It connected the two drive shafts:

We think this model of Micromill was built in the USA, you should be able to source the coupling locally I would have thought.
Check the stepper motor and lead screw shaft diameters, i think they will be both imperial

The coupling is supplied by Sherline as part of the CNC add on.

If you call them that will be the cheapest way to resolve it.

I am sure we have some here but shipping and duty will make them expensive.

NOTE:

The reason the coupling will have broken is that the motor shaft and leadscrew shaft will not have been correctly alligned. Make sure when you refit the two are aligned correctly!

I don`t think they are the same.

It looks like you require a flexible coupling. It may be worth measuring the shaft diameter. Not sure if it will be metric or imperial but you should be able to pick one up locally.

Looks about right, similar couplings here are 15 to 18 GBP

Hold on, just checked the Sherline website and their 67105 coupling is $13.20
