Easiturn reverse spindle?

I have a setup almost identical to the pinned post at the top of this section (easiturn conversion some observations)
I have a spindle 3 card and have forward (CW) sorted, but can't quite see how the reverse spindle functionality is achieved, could someone please help explain this to me?
