max rpm

Post by hpe » Sun 04 Nov , 2018 18:19 pm

i have a denford cyclone which has a 1.5 kw 4 pole ABB motor
the spindle and motor pulley look 1:1

so i presume 50hz is 1500 rpm spindle speed.

running through a 220v 3ph vfd what would be the maximum safe rpm for this machine/motor

thanks

The rated speed was 5000RPM though I would check the chuck fitted as this will normally have a rating engraved on it.

unfortunately the literature shows 4kw motors motors and no pulley sizes , but i would presume its not a 1:1 ratio to achieve 5000rpm

i have seen the cyclone on youtube clearly marked 3700 max rpm
so I'm guessing if its 1:1 then that's about 120hz
so i need to know max hz to run 4pole 1,5kw 220v 3ph motor at and the speed will be what it will be .

Can you attach a photo of the serial number plate so we can identify the model. We may still have the test sheet here and could probably work out how the inverter was set.
