Help please.
i have a old Denford Cyclone lathe.
Just crashed the tool in to the chuck today. GGRRR .Now it seams like the whole turret will not index to the correct position.
Before crash when i faced of , no tit .tool height correct.
Crashed on tool 4.
face tool number 1
After crash , you would think the tool was 1mm high . see pic.
I have just removed the tool holding turret and there are no broken pins.

Re: Tools crashed into chuck GGRRRR
Depending on how hard it crashed, you'll most likely need to realign the turret on the slide plate, and possibly the spindle.
You'll then need to adjust all the tool offsets to suit, as it's highly unlikely you'll get the spindle and turret back in the exact position relative to each other.

We fitted 2 dowels on the faceplate that can be tapped back in to realign the faceplate if you still have them. Just slacken the screws holding the faceplate & tap the pins in until the faceplate is aligned then tighten the screws & pull the pins back.
