air chuck conversion

Post by spannerman » Wed 05 Dec , 2012 12:27 pm

I would like to fit an air chuck to my Cyclone, either a collet type or a 3 jaw. Has anyone else done this conversion and if so where did you buy the chuck from? Were the original air chucks supplied with the machines made by Denford or an external supplier and if so are they still available?

The cyclones that had air chucks on where fitted with Richard Leader ones. There shouldn't be any reason why another make can't be used with the appropriate back plate.
I have the Richard Leader one and its a cracking chuck but I can't use it on stainless so I had to take it off because it didn't have the clamping force I needed and also shortened my turning capacity but as soon as I get my 3rd cyclone running its going on that for bar feed work 8)
