Re: cyclone tu150e
Regardless of dongle, the computer should still boot and show you the usual BIOS screen.
As Martin has suggested, try removing and reinserting the cards (the beep code is for the graphics, and that is the main card that would cause nothing to show).
The other suggestion if that doesn't change anything, is to go through the power connectors on the motherboard with a multimeter, and check all the voltages are present and correct.

Re: cyclone tu150e
We checked the power like Martin has said to do and it checked out, also pulled the cards numerous times and reinserted. The monitor screen does show a glow, but nothing else. You can see the glow especially when you shut it down as it goes out like an old TV. I just think I am doing something stupid. Mike

Re: cyclone tu150e
Well got the screen to come up , its the tutorial screen , and now the keyboard doesn't seem to respond. So have to check that out. The keyboard that I plugged into the side of the cabinet works in order to bring up the setup screen on the Denford monitor but nothing form the qwerty tutor board. Do I have to unplug the other keyboard to work ? I tried both ways and still noting. Gaining ground but its one step at a time. Have a buddy that has a tester for the keyboard , I'll try that and see what happens . Any ideas ? I checked all the connections and everything's good. Mike

Re: cyclone tu150e
Ok so I need a keypad membrane. The batch number is 147892 made by RH Technical Industries . Can I change the keyboard out with another or would it be possible to find a new keyboard. Thanks for any help. Mike
Re: cyclone tu150e
Are you sure it's not just the wrong settings in the .go file?
We used 3 different type of keyboards over the years on different machines.
Check the line in the TU150E.go file is below,
IBM.RS2 2
$2F8 3 MACHINE
$2F8 3 COM1
DENFORD1.KBD 1
18.2 $3F8 4

Re: cyclone tu150e
Well I have made leaps and bounds in getting the lathe to do something. The current problem is the tool turret will not turn. When I go "Home" and then "jog" to type in the tool number all I can hear is a humming like its trying to turn , but no such luck. Would anyone have experience in this matter such as disassembly ? I am thinking its jammed. I have looked all over the parts and cant find a manufacturer name but think it is a Baruffaldi RH80 .

Re: cyclone tu150e
I may stand corrected and now think it is a DM8 , I did find a drawing in some older posts on here . I took the cover off the electrical wiring machined box and it looks good inside . I will continue to investigate.

Can you post a picture of the toolpost.

Re: cyclone tu150e
I can take a picture of the pieces. I had enough and took it all apart .the grease in there was hard and even taken apart it was hard to turn, but nothing appears to be damaged. I am going to clean and add new grease . Can anyone tell me what grade of grease would be best as I don't want to take this apart again . Also what would the lubrication be for the spindle ? I can take pictures but it looks like the drawing I found here in a older post for a Mirac tool post, the drawing number is TP126M .

Re: cyclone tu150e
In dismantling and cleaning and freeing up the gear box and adding new grease and getting everything working I have a problem where as the tool changer will turn but it seems that it need to reverse to unlock the turret . The question is does it have to reverse in order for the center shaft that threads into the bronze gear have to thread out in order to unlock and then thread back in to lock ? If this is the case then when I reassembled should I not assemble tight but rather enough thread to allow it to unlock ? I hope this makes sense as to the way I am trying to describe. It is a DM8 tool post.

Re: cyclone tu150e
Ok I have it working kind of so-so. I have some questions in assembling the DM8 tool post
1- Is there a why to time the gearbox , such as the distance/ position of the spindle in the bronze gear . It will index but the tool holder/turret has to be loose or when tightened it lock up bigger than you know what.
2- do the 8mm lock nuts on the reversing bush have to be locked down or just loose enough to allow movement in the reversing bush?
I am going off the drawing "TP126M DM8 indexing toolpost"
Any direction in this area will be greatly appreciated. Thank you mike

Re: cyclone tu150e
Tighten the screws in the faceplate with the toolpost mid-station.

Re: cyclone tu150e
Ok I have the machine 100% mechanically sound now. Everything is working. I just want to say thanks for the help. I would like to find a drawing or just get measurements for the tool clamps for the turret. I found in and older post what I think is the part number and that is AC2/802A . I am sure I can make them but if I can find them that might be quicker. Like I was saying the turret is a Denford and not Baruffaldi if there is a difference I wouldn't know. Thanks mike

Re: cyclone tu150e
3.5 floppy disks are antiques!!!Should also mention I have the 3.5 floppy disks. "Fanuc ot offline programming qwerty keyboard", "lathe cam operating disk ver 1.3", "denford libraries disk", then 2 with hand writting that say "denford librarys disk" and "lathe cam designer ver 1.3". I am wondering if the fact that the lathe has had no power to it in maybe 6-7 years could it have just "bleed out" if that is the right to say it ?

Re: cyclone tu150e
Yes they are old , I have one that is "fanuc ot off-line qwerty keyboard" and "denford lathe libraries", Would it be possible just to swap the disc reader for a usb flash drive and download whatever I need to make it work. I am still having problems . I have to plug the denford tutor keyboard into the rs232 port on the left side of the machine to get the keyboard to work. Once I turn it on I go to the "quit " on the F10 page and then with the DOS screen that comes up after "quit" is pressed then I installed the 2 disks I have . Now the qwerty keyboard that I have plugged in on the left side also will type on the DOS screen but that is all. Either there is something wrong or I am doing something wrong. I am using the manuals that are with it, but I think I am getting now where fast. Mike
