Door open safety switch does not properly make contact..

yes I have vacuumed it out, yes I blow it out on a regular basis...

I've lost my sense of humor with this mickey mouse design and would like to know if there is a way to improve the safety switch or bypass it all together.

given the lack of response that this question / concern has recieved.. I will pass along the poor customer service experience that I have had with Denford with anyone that will listen. Really wishing I had gone with Forrest Scientific at this point... Perhaps they can rebuild the machine for me.

This switch is still faulty... this CNC router is a boat anchor.

Hi. Can you explain the problem with the switch? There are two sets of contacts one that interlocks the spindle start and the other indicates the switch status.

Is it permanently saying the guard is open?

Does the guard lock with the power off and release as you power on?

What age is the machine? So I can identify the correct circuit diagram.

I can see the machine is a Compact 1000PRO.

Is it permanently saying the guard is open?

Does the guard lock with the power off and release as you power on?

The guard switch locks as the spindle starts. We have had some issues where the contacts of the switch bounce as it locks which then cause the machine to hang up as it thinks its not safe.

There is a software fix that cures this if that was the problem?

Try downloading the current version of VR Milling 5 and install that. It may cure the problem.

http://www.denfordata.com/downloads/VRMilling_V5_63.zip

A description of the exact problem would help.

Problem is in the design of the door switch. It is a hold open switch. The switch itself was cooked. Replaced it with another, at 400 bucks was a little less than thrilled, but that seems to be a theme in my experiences with Denford.. Machine works fine.
