Techsoft are working on a new version of 2D Design, which will be called 2D Design V2. They do not have a final release date for this yet, but we anticipate it to be at least at 6 months to a year away. Due to customer pressure we have released 2D Design V2 as an interim version 1.5 with some of its features already in place.
Most of the new features in V2 are enhancements to the graphics capabilities of the software, offering features such as bitmap import, graduated fills, and so on. These are aimed at students doing graphic design projects and are not relevant to milling or routing. For this reason we have no current plans to provide a Denford Extension for 2D Design V2. However, this should not be too much of a problem for 2D Design (V1) users with a Denford extension, as later versions are able to export in version 1 format. Thus, users of versions 1.5 or 2 will be able to transfer their work to version 1 for output. Of course any unsupported data types such as bitmaps or graduated fills will be lost in the transfer, but this is only to be expected.
Different versions of the software can co-exist on the same PC with no problem, in fact version 1.5 onwards uses a different installation procedure, and by default installs in a different directory anyway.
Existing customers with Denford extension who are upgrading to V1.50 / 2.00 should retain a copy of version 1 on any PC linked to a Denford machine.

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

OR, Give QuickCAM 2D Design a try - with a customisable Post Processor, it will be able to create CNC programs for (almost) any machine
