Techsoft 2D Ver 2 to Techsoft 2D Ver 1 conversion procedure

Post by bradders » Wed 05 Apr , 2006 8:46 am

How do I design in Techsoft 2D Ver 2 and convert to Techsoft 2D Ver 1 so I can output to a Denford Machine Tool via Denfords Techsoft 2D post processor?

N.B. Techsoft said when they brought out Techsoft 2D Ver 2, that there was no need to be able to link directly to the Denfords Techsoft 2D post processor, because the mods, upgrades and embellishments they had incorporated where graphic based and would not be applicable to a machining operation on a machine tool.

You have to have both Techsoft 2D Ver 1 and Ver 2 on your PC

With the design opened in Techsoft 2D Ver 2

Select

FILE
EXPORT
DESIGN TOOLS DRAW V1

This should then give you a design that can be opened in Techsoft 2D Ver 1

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

Alternatively,

If you have VR Milling version 5, then save DXF files of the design from Techsoft V2, and then import them into the easy CAM wizard in VR Milling.

see here for some pictures of the CAM import wizard...
