Access Violation error opening dxf file with VR milling

Post by oyoung » Wed 11 May , 2016 14:27 pm

Hi-

I am trying to open a dxf file with VR Milling, but keep getting an "Access Violation at address 064AE7FE (or similar number) in module 'VECAD.dll'"

I have tried it on two different computers with similar results. I am running Win 7, with a new install of the latest VR Milling.

Thanks

Is the DXF file one that you know is good?

VE CAD is the engine used to import the file and will not recognise newer format DXF files.

Sometimes you get this alarm the first time you import a file then it will import if you try a second time.

Could you post the DXF file for us to look at?

What package created the DXF File?

Brilliant! Problem solved. I was using the default dxf output which was 2013. I cracked one off using v2000 and bingo - works fine.

Thanks very much :D

(I could do some experimenting - but you might know the most up to date version it will import?)

2000 is about as new as it gets. I always use v13 or V14.
