Routing just part of a file

Post by allan2020 » Thu 21 May , 2015 11:01 am

Hi

We have a mould drawn in Inventor, saved as STL which can be exported as and FNC fro Quick CAM Pro and opened in VR Milling.

What we want to do is just mill the aperture in the centre and not the perimeter draft angle.

What is the easiest/correct way to do this please.

I have attached the file.

Thanks

Allan

Take the file through the wizard to the cutting strategy page then select the custom boundary option.

You can then change the area that will be machined by changing the values of the X Y and Z to suit.

If you dont want to machine the top of the block set the z start depth at z-0.1 and it will not machine the top
