Viceroy T.D.S 1/1 G.B - Bedway repair

Post by dazz » Sat 23 Sep , 2006 23:19 pm

Hello

To repair the damage to the lathe bedway, I glued wet/dry strips onto wood. The strip width and location matched the damaged area so I wouldn't take metal off good parts of the bed.

The chrome bed is very hard and only a small amount of metal was removed. Bearing blue showed a good fit to the saddle with no sign of high spots.

400 grade paper being used to take off any high spots. 1200 grade (back ground) was used to finish.
