Viceroy TDS 1/1 G.B - Splash Guard and shelf

Post by dazz » Fri 12 Sep , 2008 11:17 am

Hello

Just a small welding project for my TDS lathe. The lathe came with a splash panel that was hung off the brackets for the taper attachment. For a number of reasons, I decided that this was unsatisfactory. This included not having a convenient shelf to place items.

I made a frame for the aluminum panel. The panel is held on with wing nuts. This is so I can remove the panel easily to allow me to swap cross slides. I have a Tee slot cross slide as well as a standard one.

The frame includes a shelf for handy tool stowage. The shelf intentionally slopes to prevent any chance of items vibrating off the shelf.

The frame is bolted to the base.
