We had an instance where a machine was cutting and the estop was pressed the rotation of the cutter acted like a cork screw and pulled the Z slide down into the job because the stepper motor de energised.

If the pitch of the Z screw was greater this would not be an issue.

I would be interested to see the part. If you can select the line segments you wanted to make a path in the cad software then right click or use the dropdown menu you will see a JOIN command is shown. If you have drawn a rectangle as 4 lines then select each line and then click join they are grouped...

The time taken can be calculated looking at the distance the tool travels in the program and the feedrate it moves per minute. The problem is the tool is not travelling at a constant velocity and any axis reversal causes the slide to have to decelerate to a stop then accelerate to speed again. Where...

Hi,

Where are you located?

I am not too sure of the question you are asking. Are you using the rotary fixture? What version of driver are you using?

I am visiting the ULS factory today so will ask them if they can help.

Can you please add as much information as possible.

Thanks.

I think Mr Magoo is right.

Try moving the z axis and see if this moves the correct distance?

If so then the machine is OK.

Hi, The electronics you have are made by North East Electronics. Unfortunatley they are very old and now unsupported. Several people on the forum have replaced these and fitted Mach 3. There are several threads telling you how to do this. Someone else may have some other suggestions though :?:

Hi,

The two KEB units in the top right are inverter drives. The big one runs the spindle the small one the toolpost.

One of the guys in the office should be able to point out the breakers or fuses.

Are there any lights on the inverter?

MDF can be cast into multiple times. The ones shown have been just poured then sanded from the back. We are cutting some more today and I will upload some images. This time we have made a fill hole in the mould and G clamped a back on. It works great. We have also cast into model board and the mould...

These have been designed in either Quick CAM 2D or in Pro/Desktop them QuickCAM Pro. I attach a few picture...

We need to know the controller fitted in the machine to tell what you have.

Look at the link above and then let us know your control type.

To run the machine you will probably need an older PC.

The tuning value is used to take out backlash in the movement of the optics. The laser fires in both directions while raster engraving and any backlash in the system can be seen. The tuning value should be somwhere between 0 and 10. When a laser is supplied it will have been set so the backlash has ...

If you take the program with the problem and run it first without the spindle running. (delete the M03's) and check if there is any loss of position. If not add the M03's back in and try again. If still no problem then try while cutting. If you have coolant it may be a noise problem with the coolant...

I am using Vista and have no problem with either the VLS or PLS drivers. I think the problem refers to the older range of lasers the VL200 and VL300.

This is the green driver icon.
