Hi, Check that the Barruffaldi control card is seated fully(if it has one fitted). It will be in the box on the back of the machine & is a card with terminals down either side with a board slotted in to a plug down the centre. This card has a load of LED`s on it. It may be loose & not fully seated. ...

Update VRMilling to the latest version. The version you have is quite old. The latest version can be downloaded from the Denford website. You need to download VRMilling Ver 2.31. The version you have is Ver 2.08. Before you update make sure you have the VRMilling licence floppy or a Denford Dongle w...

If you look in the back of the machine (2 x Button head screws) the main fuses are just to the left of the centre near where the door fan plugs in to the electrical unit.

The Barrufaldi RH80 toolpost has a 3 phase 110 volt ac motor & is fitted with a brake. When the toolpost is in position the brake is energised & the power to the motor released. There is a small rotary position switch inside the toolpost & a clamp switch that. Both have to be correct for the tool po...

The spindle comes off a true fanuc drive so the mains input phases to the machine will not effect the direction of rotation. The toolpost motor & coolant pump are the only things that are phase dependable. There is somtimes a rotation arrow on the coolant pump that you can check depending on what pu...

What toolpost is fitted to your machine? Are you sure it is not just the phases to the machine? Have you tried changing 2 phases over? Don`t forget you need to set the 450 diagnostics for the toolpost. 451.0 Baruffaldi RH80 fitted 451.1 0=6st, 1=8st 453.4 Tool select switch starts at binary 0 As Bra...

Glad it`s up & running.

Regarding the toolchanger.

Are the diagnostic set right?
Diagnostic 453 bit 4 = Tool select switch starts at binary 0

Other than that change over 2 of the phases to the machine if the toolpost is moving the wrong direction.

I can`t remember any red LED on the 24 volt power supply or a reset button on a Fanuc drive. There may be a curcuit breaker on the drive unit (photo IMG_2839 (WinCE).JPG ) If there is a breaker it will be under the large plug on the bottom left. I still think that it sounds more like the 24volts/E-s...

Picture IMG_2831 (WinCE).JPG is of the 24volt psu.

The two blacks are the input which should be 110 volts ac.

The two blues are the output which should be 24 volts dc.

I don`t have the drawings here but would guess that 24 & 25 are meant to be 110volts AC.

This will power any cabinet cooling fans, lights, solenoids, contactors & the 24Volt PSU that sounds like it comes out on wires 61 & 68

Can you post a photo of the inside of the transformer box & the electrical connections in the main control box.

It may be that the 24volts dc is 60(0v) & 61(+24v).

The power supply we used back then was a silver chasis with a transformer & pcb mounted on it if that helps to identify it.

Yes the 24 volt dc power supply should get its input voltage from the 110 volts line. The fans in both cabinets get there power from the 110 volt so its easy to check if that is ok. I would sugest tracing wire number 71 (+24volts dc) from the 24 volt psu back to the terminals in the transformer box ...

Yes both 70`s & 71`s should be connected if the plugs & all connections are ok. It does appear that it may be the 24 DC power supply unit. Is there 100 Volts ac going in to it. It may be worth removing the output wires from the power supply just to make sure the 24 volts is not being pulled down.

What happened with the power on wire 31 in the transformer box?

Ther should be 110 Volts AC between wires 30 & 31.

Is this the transformer/power supply you have replaced?

Is the 24 Volts DC present in the main electrical box on wires 70(0v) & 71(24v)?

According to the record sheet the machine is fitted with a NextStep non USB card. It may be worth downloading the latest "Denford Machine Firmware EasyUpgrader " from the Denford website & try to connect to the card. Also make sure that the Green LED on the card is lit. If the problem persists you c...
