look out for the starturn and novaturn too. Might still be some schools selling them off.

Re: Converting microturn/micromill to manual spindle control(Help needed)
It should be the bottom row of connections, there should be a 0v, 10v and wiper or signal, something along those lines. You need the slow side of the pot to 0v, the fast to 10v, the other to the mid connection/wiper. Have a look here http://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=4778 I think one...

Re: Denford CAM software for MAC
The school will need to have the software on the PC to control the machine, if you are talking about generating CAD files then wanting to post process them into G code then you can use the Denford software to do that but it is PC based. You can do the designs on any CAD software as long as you can e...

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand
Hi, I just typed up a long response then realised i had put it all done in my previous posts. Denford are a company, pay em and they would sort it, but it's megga money for control boards. They do come on here and from looking at the post about this problem that was linked they have gone through all...

Re: Vacuum pump
Martin he is using a very different vacuum bed which has lots of very small holes that are all open unlike the Trend bed with the ball valves. I think it is more designed for use on a vacuum cleaner which requires a constant airflow and will act as a form of extraction at the same time rather than a...

Re: Testing without software?
Picked up on this from your other post. Martin has been the guy at Denford that I have known as 'the man' for the 19/20yrs Ive been using their machines at work. Came out to fix them a couple of times back in the day. I'm not a 100% but I think the Beta eprom should run VR2 or VR5 (not sure on the V...

Re: Parallel Licence issue
it just plugs in to the parallel port, it is a pass through device and has a socket on it so back in the day you could still plug your printer in. I am sure there was/is something about being able to use the VR2 software without the dongle, the later licence came on a floppy disk and it added a line ...

Re: Vacuum pump
Yep same spec as mine, they just aren't designed for use with the type of bed you have. Did you try it with the rubber and cover all the holes? On the original Trend units the version they did for use with a vacuum cleaner had a fluted nozzle then went in to the pipe from the vac, this allowed it to...

Re: Triac PC Homing Issue
is this on all axis or just one? if all that would be a bit odd unless say they sensors are all powered from the same source and that supply has failed. On the switch type I'm not sure if they are normally open or normally closed and if they connect high or low +v or 0v. I would be looking to the se...

Re: Triac PC Homing Issue
sounds like there is an issue with the home position switch. Im not familiar with the triac but on other machines when you hit the home button the machine sends itself to the home location switches and presses on them then it slowly winds away until the switch changes state again. So if you machine ...

Re: Novamill electronics
Not sure to be honest, I presumed it was to store settings but the word from Denford is it is not required for the way they use the board.
The boards are very capable units when you look into them and could do a lot more, I would say they are well over spec'd.

Re: Major Timeout Error
The leaking battery has caused issues in the past, there are many discussions on this (give it a search, these boards were used in most machines at some point. It is not needed and can be removed. I cant remember what you need to use to clean up a niMH 'spill'. You need to clean off the corrosion an...

they look to be part of the kit for the 'F1 in Schools' system. is there a red anodised frame they will fit fixed to the bed. each but would fix to either end of a block of balsa wood of set dimension. This would be mounted in the frame and machined then using the flats on the square would be rotate...

Re: Major Timeout Error
have you tried running the easy upgrade? that should talk to the machine and check a few bits? If you search for the access violation on here I have seen that come up in the past on threads, i have had it and cured buy uninstall re install. Might be worth popping the cover off and checking the fuses...

Re: Major Timeout Error
uninstall VR Milling from the PC and start again.
When you come to shut down ensure you hit the connect/disconnect from real machine button so you disconnect before turning the power off or try to exit from VR milling.

the original screw connection and no longer made, they have all swapped on to 'spade' terminals. I had one in it's packet on my desk when lock down started and for the life of me i cant find it! Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand
It sounds like a bit of both, faulty switch and dirty/binding drive If the machine does a proper home and then lowers Z down for machining but misses steps on the return due to the weight of the router and binding lead screw then it won't return to the true zero point, the control will have sent the...
