Re: coolant options
Airmist does not require any modification to the machine. If set correctly there is hardly any residue left and it will evaporate away.

Re: Novaturn without ATC - VR Turning settings
If you browse the VR Turning CD there is a folder called manuals. There is a setup manual for VR Turning on the CD. You need to set the work offsets first with tool 1 then setup the other tools in the tool offset menu.

DOS and VR EPROM Versions
Here is a list of the EPROM numbers fitted to the Smartstep, Denstep and Nextstep controller cards. All the machines were supplied with DOS software before 2000 and a change over to the current VR Turning and VR Milling software in late 2000. To identify what software will run on your controller you...

Yes add an earth wire from the aluminum tube that passes through the side window and link it to the frame of the cabinet. What shop Vac do you have? If it has a metal housing make sure the top and bottom are also linked.

Re: Resurrecting a Compact 1000
Have you installed the USB driver from the installation menu? When you select the real machine does it go through the process of searching for the machine and downloading data or do you get the message as you soon as you try to connect? As easy upgrader works I think you are not too far away. Sounds...

Re: Compact 1000 pro E-stop and off on switch
Until the axis is homed you cannot select jog mode. Use the secret home and then jog all the Axes away from home. Then select home mode again. Look at the control panel position display window and click the y datum switch a few times and look for the green letter Y to appear. This proves the switch ...

Re: Compact 1000 pro E-stop and off on switch
It sounds like the Z datum switch has dust in it which is making the machine think it has not reached the switch. The dust gets stuck between to contacts of the switch as you have jogged the axis down in the z axis apply a vacuum to the switch and manually press and release it which should suck the ...

This would have been the SEM motor MT30U4-36 Denford part no BI00307G
We now use a different motor with a slightly different shaft size but otherwise the same. BI00307GM

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand
Try running a shorter USB cable say 1M or less, If you can get one with ferrite suppressors this would help. I would also ensure that you make sure the power settings on the PC are not allowing the USB port to shutdown for power saving. Device driver call fail occurs when the USB communication hands...

Re: v clearance initial cut depth ignored
The V carve settings work from the surface of the material. Are you effectively trying to V Carve into the bottom of a pocket? I am not sure if that would work as the depth the carving goes to is set by the geometry on the surface. Also there would be no collision detection around the tool. The solu...

Re: Earth Clamp Mod
There was also a mod done adding a earth wire to the vacuum nose pipe where it passes through the side window as static could jump the gap and ground to the cabinet.
