Are all the pins ok on connector PLC?. Looking at your picture there looks to be a compound covering the top 4 soldered joints.

The drawings are the same for the PNC3 Lathe & Mill so I guess we need to be looking at the what the drawings show as the Y Axis on the Electrical Drawings. Therefore the IC for the Z Step is IC35 & the signal goes out on pin 19 of the ribbon cable. We have just scanned the Easiturn PNC3 Manual & wi...

It sounds like the Z Axis drive is not getting the pulse signal from the control card. What happens to the green LED on the X & Z drives when you ask it to go to Datum? The LED should pulse as the drive is being asked to move. IC 39 on the PNC 3 Interface Board looks to be the opto isolator for the ...

I have seen the same thing on a compact in Northampton. I changed the USB bulk head adapter to cure but again the fault was worse when the cable was moved.

It may be worth checking that the ribbon cable that connects to the drive back plane card is pushed fully in to the control card. You may be best looking from above down the centre. If you follow the ribbon cable from the board the drives push in to to the main card & just make sure the cable is con...

That is just showing the first drive error. When you press the E-Stop the power to all the drives drops off therfore putting drive errors in the control. I presume therfore the fault is on the Z Axis & most likely the CD20 drive card. If you remove the cover & power the drives up you can see the dri...

The T test page displays the overtravel switch message on the bottom of the page when the switch is pressed so it`s quite easy to test. What is the problem you are experiencing? Could it be the stepper drive?

I think that most of the Triac Fanucs were fitted with a Sprint 1600i spindle drive. There is a fault ouput on the drive though not sure of the terminals/ wire numbers. Does the power LED light up?

The black things with red LED,s are relays. COR = Coolant On Relay. The ALR may be a alarm relay or it could be Axis Lube Relay. If it is just the lube relay it should activate when the machine is in cycle. What are the wire numbers coming out of this relay?

It may be the toolpost clamp switch is stuck in. If you remove the large circlip on the right hand side of the toolpost & then the metal disc you will see the rotary position switch on the centre of the shaft & below it the small Honeywell clamp switch. It may be worth checking this switch out. I wo...

I would guess that the Barruffaldi control card may be outputting the fault. It may not be a thermal alarm. Are there any led`s on the control card that light up at this time. When does the alarm activate. You should be able to follow the toolchanger routine from the led`s. Could it be as simple as ...

Does the part with the Red LED on ithave a knob & dial on it?? It sounds like it is the voltage sensing relay for the toolpost. If it is then the toolpost motor has will have a thermistor inside that is fed 24volts DC. When the motor gets hot the voltage drops & the Voltage Sensing Relay should acti...

The limits you are seeing on the VDU are software limits set in the control. It sounds more likely that one of the axis limit overide switches is faulty.

Can you inspect the switches to check that none are stuck in? Otherwise you will have to meet at each switvh in the back of the machine.

You will need the licence disc that was supplied. It is normally on a floppy disc. It may be worth downloading the latest version of VRMilling from the Denford wedsite. Make sure you download the correct version. Version 2 or 5.

Software hangs during a auto tool change

Fault
During a Auto Tool Change the turret moves to the correct position & then reverses into position but the software does not register & locks up.The software is VRTurning ver 1.19 & the toolpost is a DM8.
