Re: Feed speeds displayed incorrectly.

Hi, so is it just a display issue and it is moving at the correct speed (matches the program) or is it moving at the displayed speed e.g. 39ipm Is this happening with all files? DO an 'air cut' but change that feed speed F0.875 to say F10 and see what it does. Have you tried any of the 'demo' FNC f...

Feed speeds displayed incorrectly.

When executing a part program VR Milling displays the feed speed. I assume it derives this from the F (feed speed) parameter in the part program. However the speed is often incorrectly displayed possibly because the software is reading the wrong parameter. I've attached screen shots of two examples....

Re: LINE ANGLES

I think I get it.

What the software has done is to take 90 degrees, call it 90 millimetres and convert that to inches.

90mm = 3.54331inches.

Looks clearly wrong to me.

LINE ANGLES

I've been experimenting with the unlicensed version of QuickTURN 2D Design. If I look at the properties of a line drawn parallel to the X axis its angle is given as 3.54331. If I look at the properties of a line drawn parallel to the Z axis its angle is given as 7.08661, which is twice the previous ...

Line numbering problem.

If an attempt is made to add line numbers to a part program, having blank lines, the entire edit window is deleted. ie: Open a .fnl file. Click Editor. Click Modify. Click Line numbering. Click OK The contents of the edit window are deleted. It took me a while to realise what was causing the problem...

Re: VR Turning help file.

Thanks for that Pete.

It's not just me then! I'm at version 1.51. When I get a chance I'll try it on Windows XP.

Given that this software is used in educational establishments I'm surprised this hasn't been reported before.

VR Turning help file.

Some of the pages in the help file dealing with G Codes supposedly show diagrams. However when I view these pages the diagrams don't appear. This applies to both Windows 7 and Windows 10 machines.

Is this a general problem or is it just me?

Thanks, Max.

With the Covid -19 lock down just starting I probably asked this question at the wrong time.

Is anyone able to help?

Combivert F0 Variable Frequency Drive settings?

My Mirac's ATC has stopped working. To cut a long story short I've traced the fault to the Combivert F0 Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). If I manually apply 15 VDC to tag 10 on the VFD's terminal strip the ATC motor should drive forwards, but nothing happens. The ATC is not jammed. On checking the VF...

Re: Spindle speed incorrect.

The maximum speed parameter sets the highest speed that can be selected in software be it DOS or VR turning. It is also the speed at which 10VDC is sent to the VFD. In the case of my machine the maximum speed parameter was set to 5000 RPM, but the VFD was set up so that 10VDC corresponded with 3870 ...

Re: Spindle speed incorrect.

When I originally started this thread I was using the Mirac with its internal PC which runs DOS. The parameters relating to spindle speed are in the file FLSTEP.opt. I'm now using the Mirac with an external PC running VR Turning. The spindle parameters are in the machine parameters file which can ea...

Re: Easy Upgrader not detecting Eurostep Controller.

It turned out that the problem was nothing to do with the cable. This thread suggests that Easy Upgrader won't work with Eurostep controllers and that MintMan should be used instead. http://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=3692 With MintMan's comm port configured as 19200-8-N-1 and a V2.1 ...

Re: Easy Upgrader not detecting Eurostep Controller.

I think I know what might be causing this. The cable has pins 4 and 6 correctly cross wired, but in addition they're linked to pin 1. Pin 1 would normally be Data Carrier Detect (DCD), but Baldor use it for the cable screen, so pins 4 and 6 are probably being pulled permanently low. Unfortunately I ...

Easy Upgrader not detecting Eurostep Controller.

Before spending money on VR Turning software I wanted to make sure that my PC could actually communicate with the Eurostep Controller in my Mirac via an RS232 serial link. The Eurostep Controller is known to be working. I used a cable wired as shown in this thread http://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewto...

Re: VR Turning and serial port.

The control card is I believe a Eurostep and is pictured in this thread:-

viewtopic.php?f=40&t=5620&p=22582&hilit=eurostep#p22582

I have a V2.1 EPROM. Can this be fitted to the Eurostep control card?

Thanks, Max.
