Re: Denford LATHE ATC - drill holders
I ended up making them for my starturn 5, bit of bar turned to the required OD, drilled to fit the various drills. filed a flat on one side for the grub screw to tighten on, My initial one I slit so when I tightened up the grub screws it would tighten on the bit. This didn't work.. the bits would mo...

Re: What software do I need for Windows 10?
you don't say what software or versions you have however vr5 will do it (you prob have vr2 with it saying xp/2000), somewhere on here there is a list of all versions and compatibility with different OS.

Re: Hello novamill desk top tutor advice please
The tutor keyboard if as frustrating as a ZX81 when in use. The more modern control software from denford is windows/mouse based and a lot nicer then having to suffer the membrane keyboard.

Wondered when you would pop in Martin Cheers for filling in the gaps I'm still learning! I've never used the easy upgrader so that's cool to know you can check stuff out. I might give it a wiz in work to see what it's like.
Hope that gets you on the road Kevin

Re the no 2 on the display, did you not take a look at this link? stuff/NextStepLEDSWEB.htm
depending on when No2 is on the display it can mean 1 of 3 things. Given yours is on the display whilst powered up it looks to me that it is normal.

Trust me on the wiring for the RS232... I have spent/wasted/cried over a lot of time on it with various denford machines and all the various pinouts that have been posted on here! Feel free to look back through all the post I've done over the last couple of years. If you look at the 25pin RS232 in t...

Re: New Owner / Introduction
looking at the section on the wiring. its not that the wire is in the wrong place, the blue wire has 30 tagged on it as per the diagram. it looks more like the gnd wire to the speed pot has not been fitted back to the board. it may well be that the gnd has been picked up off another point. it would ...

Not aware of a trial version. As for the sequence on the LED display. Ill flip the panel off ours in work tomorrow and fire it up. Ours is the Microrouter Pro but I think the board is the same. I found this if it helps. Someone was having issues with a machine "Does your board have a USB communicati...

Re: New Owner / Introduction
From your info, you need to get VR5 to control the machine. You will need some form of CAD software that you can export in DXF if you are doing 2.5D machining, several paths at different depths or 2D different paths and same depth. If you want to do full 3D profiles you need a program you can export...

Re: New Owner / Introduction
Hi, best thing is to post up either the data or a pic of the machine plate (label on the side with info on) next remove the rear cover, grab a pic of the control boards, specifically look for a 32 pin chip about 35mm (1" 1/2) x 12mm (1/2") which should have a label on it with something like v2.2 on ...

Re: MRC40 and DP50 setup
It looks to me that you are missing the hose that runs from the router mount in the machine, up to the back wall which is then clipped in the terry clip and secured with a cable tie to stop it popping out and then goes to a mount which is fixed in the larger hole using the 2 small screw holes that a...

Hi, re the motor, I did a strip on the ATC in my Starturn 5 which had a gear strip. http://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=4591 I'm pretty sure that the motors were available too individually or as assembled on the gearbox. Have you thought about either filing/machining the ratchet to the...

Re: Occasional Weird spindle noise [video]
Hi, not sure but to me that sounds like a shaft spinning in a bearing. so the bearing is slowing down then spinning up. Would be worth taking the top cover off and having a look.

Re: Cannot connect machine
Very odd that between being shown the machine and getting it home the PC has 'forgotten' the settings In about 16yrs of using VR milling V2 and more recently 5yrs of V5 I've never come across this. Getting it set up initially (virgin install on a PC) I've spent hours getting the communications set u...

Re: No Power to Control Board
Martin asked you to check the voltage on those pins not the resistance. turn the dial on your meter to 200v~.
It isn't wise to connect a meter on the resistance setting to a powered circuit.

Porter-Cable 3102 router
What options are there for replacement of the Porter-Cable 3102 routers as this unit has been out of service for some time? What is the output from the speed drive board to the motor (how is the speed control done). 2001 model (separate black box with red 7 segment LED control board) Will it drive t...
