ATC (auto tool change) Gearbox info

Hi folks, just when I thought I was getting somewhere my ATC unit died! Stripping the unit down I found that it had stripped a tooth on the input gear and that all the others on it were badly worn. I had read only the other week about this happening to someone else but searched and searched but coul...

Re: G Code

Brilliant Steve, Ill give this a go. Was it produced with QuickTurn? I just posted about this in my thread about Lathe Cam. I also managed to find the 'generic DOS turning software manual' which looks to list all the G/M codes etc. I had actually been talking to the wife about how the sample code in...

Re: Lathe CAM Designer

I have read there is an issue with QT2d and threading on the older machines. Do you know if it would be possible to draw up in QT2d with threading and then swap out the code for code that would work? Im currently looking at the G code etc to try and learn how it works. Basically I am drawing a simpl...

G Code

Is there a full list of G code, M code etc that Denford machines use/have used over the years? I have been reading about Quickturn 2d not being able to do threading on older machines. So was wondering if I was to buy Quickturn could I swap out the threading commands with the ones I would need for my...

Lathe CAM Designer

I have finally got the Starturn 5 PC up and running. Eventually all the disks and documentation were found. I have Lathe CAM Designer v1.11 and I am controlling the machine with FANUCSLD. Now the auto tool changer will change to all 8 positions when under FANUCSLD control but in Lathe CAM it only ha...

Re: Novaturn

I must be going blonde in my old age! It's only the other day I was actually doing some between centres and with a steady mounted at half way on the big lathe at work.

Cheers

What is the purpose of the tail stock on the lathes when you can't operate them with the lid shut?

Re: Ballscrew Preload on cross slide X axis

In the search for info about the starturn 5 at one point I found a manual on here for a mirac this gave a good deal of info about servicing and adjustments. It also gave a list if recom lubes. Might be worth having a look in the mirac section.
Hope that helps a bit
