Re: Novaturn ATC blowing fuse on startup

well unfortunately I have had no luck with this, so i have ordered some slow burn fuses, in hopes that it will delay burning just long enough for the current spike to not toast another 12$ worth of fuses. The fuses i have been replacing it with are the same rating as the one that I have used for a l...

Re: Novaturn ATC blowing fuse on startup

Motor runs fine when disconnected from the turret, and no fuse burns, but as soon as it stalls in the turret it burns the fuse. Why would it be consuming more power to stall?

Novaturn ATC blowing fuse on startup

Hey guys, so my atc control board has started blowing fuses as soon as power gets to it. Not sure what could even cause this, as the motor is always "stalled" right? I am tempted to place a higher burn fuse, but don't want to burn anything sensitive. I have recently readjusted the tool center, and h...

OOF lol! Well i guess my last question would be about your price! do you have a rough idea what you hope to get out of it?

Re: FOR SALE: Deublin ltd pneumatic chuck for Mirac PC

What is the diameter of the rotary union behind the chuck? I would like to know if I can pass that through my spindle. That bump is definitely concerning. if you have an opportunity to mount an indicator on the chuck body and tip on the jaw, how much can you wiggle it? I am in the US in Wisconsin, w...

Re: Adding a 4th axis to micromill

I STILL HAVEN'T DONE MUCH MORE THAN A FEW SMALL CUTS!!! I have been in the process of moving all my projects to my shop, and have not had much time to program some fun stuff yet. I have had a little time here and there to finish mounting my mist cooling, dial in the steps per degree of the rotary ta...

Re: FOR SALE: Deublin ltd pneumatic chuck for Mirac PC

Very cool! I really have no idea how to price a chuck let alone sight unseen lol, do you have an idea what price you would be happy with? You mentioned it has been bumped, so I'm not super confident I would want to pay an arm! Could you post pics?

Dug up an old post, but i'm interested. I would like to be able to automatically probe tool heights after a tool change. Has this been attempted by denford?

Re: Novaturn Software

Hi Nick, Can you post pictures of your control board? It seems like a lot of machines have the updated eeprom, so perhaps yours was updated at some point. As far as connecting your machine to a Windows computer, I have had mixed luck with a serial card, but have had great luck with a USB to db9 cabl...

Re: Digiplan sd3 replacements

If you are on Mach 3, you must have a break out board between the drivers and your computer. Find out what that outputs, as well as what power requirements the motors have. You may need to make a large power supply for delivering a lot of clean DC to your steppers (well to your drivers to give to st...

Re: Old Machines, Old Software, Dongles and Floppy Disks, Help!

Were you able to get this sorted? I had previously documented my attempts to get vr turning to run on win 10, but have not had much time to push it forward. The concept is the same for VR milling, and if you are at a loss, perhaps reading this will be of some help: http://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewt...

Hi Steve,
Do you happen to have any pictures or diagrams of the air chuck? Was this machined by denford, or was it a sourced chuck?

well I don't know if you are still checking this, or if you ever got an answer, but this adapter has been working for me with windows 10 and vr milling 5 as well as Vr Turning: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DYNNUS8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 if that link doesnt work in t...

Re: Air chuck for novaturn

Guess I'm probably going to make a pneumatic collet closer instead! This may be a stupid question, but is the spindle face a standard size? I don't have it in front of me to measure the hole spacing and such, but it seems like there aught to be a collet holder that fits the face.

Re: Adding a 4th axis to micromill

More power did the trick! I used a laptop power supply, giving 19.5v at 4 amp. Much more than required, but within the range that both the motor and the controller could function. Wiring in the new supply was easy, I ended up just running it in parallel with the ac transformer, as this is controlled...

Re: Adding a 4th axis to micromill

We have motion!! Tonight I got it all wired up and turning! It seems to struggle with torque, so I am starting to regret wiring my stepper in bipolar series (lower power consumption and torque) I plan to try hooking in a new power supply for that drive, as I would like to make sure it is maxed out o...

Re: Adding a 4th axis to micromill

Well I always seem to think things will just fall into place. Here is another minor detail I need to sort. my stepper driver is for a 4 wire bipolar motor. I have an 8 wire stepper, wired into 5 wires with a ground for a total of 6 wires in the cable. This is a cool opportunity to learn about bipola...

I'm not sure I said anything you probably didn't already know, but hopefully you can get it cleaned up. That reminds me that I need to either remove my batteries or spray a coating around it for when this inevitably happens to mine! Let us know if you can get it back to functional :)
