Re: Drilling holes

We can offer quick change tool holders for the routers which would let you change to a different tool in the program. You should be able to peck drill holes as part of the program.

Re: Has anyone replaced the novamill spindle motor?

The standard bearings are only rated to match the spindle motor fitted.

We fit a matched pair into our 1300PRO just to get the RPM up to 6000. I think it will generate far too much heat and burn out the bearings.

Re: DXF into VRMilling adds extra lines

The problem is that the design drawing is incorrect and the vector is not closed so the software closes it automatically Check your design and make sure there are no overlapping lines. Select all the lines and join them together.

Re: Rotating tool turret command within program.

The tool should change if you program an M6 followed by the toolmumber. If the machine thinks it’s a manual tool changer then it will ask you to change tool. If set as an auto toolchanger then it will auto index.

Re: Releasing Tool With No Compressed Air

Hi. The compressed air is only for toolchanging. If you don’t want to use that most nova mills were fitted with the easy change Toolholders. This limits the travel available but does let you set tool offsets.

Re: Tool offset issue

Make sure the gap between the switch and the bolt it switches again is as small as possible.

Just keep homing it up with a clock on the axes and this should resolve it.

Re: Tool offset issue

Sending the machine home with the XYZ button makes it find the Home switches. On the Novamill these are proximity detectors. As it is finding a different location when you send it home I would check the switch is secure and the surface it registers when it Home’s is also clean and secure. Normally t...

Re: Triac spindle stalled, now won't start!

I would doubt there is an issue with the motor. At lower RPM you have lower torque which could cause a stall. does the stall occur when plunging or cutting? feeding in at an angle may help. I would select Manual Mode set your spindle to 800 rpm and then set the feed to around 100mm/min turn down the...

Re: Resolving No Firmware & No RS232 Connection

Some of the earlier RS232 internal cables had fewer connections and were not able to upgrade firmware I dont think they had the CTS and RTS wires connected.

This could possibly have been the issue.
