The DXF output is only available from the Drawing package in ProDesktop. You cannot Export a DXF from the Design Window  Open the drawing package Import the view you want then Export a DXF. Note dimension lines drawing borders will also be exported so you are better deleting these prior to expo...

ASSEMBLIES will not export as an STL

Pro desktop 8 will only export hte current model as an STL if you have assembled parts to it they must be made part of the model before they will be exported. Select each component in turn. While selected go to the feature menu and select Feature, Use Component and Add Material. The component can no...

Version 8 exports STL files differently to 2000i2. If you save the same fle in both packages the V8 file is smaller and has less triangles than the older version. Some shapes do not export correctl;y at all. The best solution is to save the file as a Binary file (as it will be smaller and will impor...

If there is a standard post for Fanuc or that ends .NC in Rhino that would be a start. The basic codes will be the same.

I agree with Admin that even if you get a post it will not be possible to cut anything without the upgrade.

I have found that you have to set the laser to the default printer and set up the driver from the control panel Printers page. Once this is done you can then change to another default printer again!

Just thought of another solution for this one.

If you have designed a part that is too large you could use the feature and scale the model. Feature menu, Modify Solids, Scale Solids.

You can then scale the whole part of just one axis of it. :D

Pro Desktop 8 can not export multiple parts as an STL. The solution is to convert hte parts to solid. In the assembly select each part in turn. Go to the feature menu, Use component then add material. The component changes colour to become the part. Do this with each part then save the STL and you w...

Static Discharge from Vacuum

We have found that on several machines that have encountered a TRANSMIT BUFFER FULL alarm that this only happens when the machine is cutting and the vacuum is running. The dust going down the vacuum hose creates static and a discharge can cause the machine communications to crash. In the UK this has...

Several things can affect manufacturing speed especially when cutting 3D parts. Older machines do not have the abillity to buffer multiple lines of code. Upgrading to VR Milling 5 and a Nextmove card will improve manufacture time probably as much as 10 times faster. See the post on "How can I upgrad...

Can I increase the speed of manufacture with VR Milling 2?

When I manufacture a part in VR Milling 2 it seems to take a long time.

This seems worse when I am cutting 3D parts.

There are several things here to look at. First ensure the whole machine is cleaned properly then lubricate with a dry silicone spray especially the rails. Leave to dry then wipe off any excess. The bearings on the rails are of a dry liner style that can wear but it is not usual to replace them. Whe...

This tutorial is written based on the US method of producing the CO2 cars. In the UK the finished car is grafted to a template that orients the model bore to a block that is the billet size in Y and Z. As a result he model will always fit in the billet. The US method can result in cars that do not f...
