Is your motor the silver coloured 1.25 KW motor? There are some older machines with a smaller black motor fitted. You will nead to specify the motor type when you order the brushes. We will have brushes for both types at the factory. Call 01484 728000 and ask to place a spares order. Orders under £2...

I suspect that it is a home switch problem. Am not sure on the diagnostics. The first thing to try is the SECRET HOME BUTTON. I suspect you are using VR Milling 2. See seperate thread on this. If you use this function you will be able to jog the axis without having to first home it. This will prove ...

How can I display pictures in this forum?

I want to post a couple of project ideas and include some photographs of the finished work. These pictures are not on a website.
Is there a way to do this?

Can I submit them to the forum administrator?

There is an inspection plate at the front of the machine under the guard switch. If you slide the machine forward on a bench (taking care not to slide it too far so it would fall off) and look underneath, the plate can be removed with 4 screws. The Red guard switch is now visible. There is a manual ...

Can I unlock a door without power?

The guard on Denford routers is locked if the power is off, the spindle is running or the machine is in E Stop.

Is it possible to over ride the locking guard switch?

The problem is caused because no power is getting through to either the spindle drive or the timer relay. When you power on the Live is connected through Fuse 1 (F1) to a contact of the E-stop Relay. When the E-stop is released the E Stop (ESR) relay should Energise this will then put power to the t...

I have seen several schools doing somthing like this. They usualy design a medal or coin design. Casting into MDF allows the moulds to be used several times. The Triac with the DTT can be upgraded. :D The upgrade to Windows software VR MILLING 5 and a USB or RS232 interface can be made. This can be done on site by our engineers. The upgrade code is UGR 0007 There is however one exception. :( If the triac has a toolchanger fitted and it is controlled by a...

Random motion could also be caused by a stall of the slide. Check that the slide is clean and free of obstructions. On routers only lubricate with a dry silicone spray. Wait for the spray to dry before operating the machine again. On Milling machines and Lathes ensure the slides are well lubricated ...

If the machine has failed to home correctly and you need to back off the slide refere to the post on secret home button. This allows you to jog away and rectify the problem. If you have reversed the axis direction by switching a motor phase then refer to the post on Axis motor direction. If the moto...

HOW DO I SET TOOL OFFSETS?

Are there any step by step instructions for setting tool offsets?

The books are incredibly hard for the layman to understand. It would be
helpful if it had sections on "How to set up for ... (Drilling, Threading,
parting off) and had step by step instructions.

Stepper motor wiring

Stepper motors have 4, 6 or 8 wires Regardless of the number of wires only 4 are connected to the drive. The motors can be connected in series or parallel depending on the motor type. The 4 wires that connect to the motor drive are split into two phases (or windings) which can be identified by chech...

Is it possible to JOG without going HOME first? Secret Home

If you want to jog the slide away from home before homing the machine or if the machine fails to home and you want to test each axis jogs correctly is there a way to do this?

It may be that one of the home switches is not functioning correctly and you want to jog away to allow cleaning? :)

To cut along a Vector Blue line it must also be a Fine line. If the line has a thicknes it will be raster cut and not cut as a vector :!:

This can be caused if you start the home procedure when the laser is not powered on.
