Re: parting ali help

Aluminium is difficult to part off without coolant.

We use Free Chipping Aluminium grade 2011 T3 without coolant.

With the following Feeds/Speeds.

Feed Rate/Min = 120
Feed Rate/rev = 0.07
Spindle Speed (RPM) = 1800
Spindle Speed (CSS) = 135

Re: Cyclone ladder software

Not sure on the ladder. Is it set as an 8 station in the diagnostics? Diagnostic 451 bit 1 = 1. (8 Station Toolpost). http://www.denfordata.com/bb/download/file.php?id=4653 Have you thought about setting it up as a Barrufaldi RH80. It only used a 8 position rotary switch & a clamp switch so no need ...

Re: correct parameters?

We don't have a copy of the 450 Diagnostics for this machine. I have attached a scanned copy of the info in the file at Denfords. It could be. Not sure if we have any documents either.

Does it say what model it is?

Re: correct parameters?

It's a long time since I have worked on one of these.

Have you set diagnostic 453 bit 0 to a 1? (It only changes momentarily) Diagnostic Setup Marker).

Have you tried connecting using EasyUpgrader to check that the firmware is up to date?

Re: New

Which belt do you have?

We fitted a blue spine type belt on the early machines & then changed over to a tooth belt.

If you can add a picture to clarify.

Re: nova turn software issue

If you open up VRTurning & then open up the Setup Parameters (password is denny) you will need to change the mint file in communications for the Novaturn NS. It should read
C:\Program Files (x86)\Denford\VRTurning\NovaTurnNS.mnt
& not
C:\Program Files (x86)\Denford\VRTurning\NovaTurn.mnt
.

Re: xyz homing issue

Does the X axis move towards the Home switch or away from it when you ask it to home? Have a look at the machine parameters for the NovaMill below from an older machine. It should be similar. (Setup, Setup Machine Parameters, (Password is denny )). [Home] X=0 Y=0 Z=0 Feed=500 Negative X=FALSE Negati...

Re: VR Turning and serial port.

Hi Max

VR Turning will work on either RS232 or USB depending on settings & as long as the machine has a SmartStep or DenStep control with a VR Eprom
fitted(2.0 Beta or 2.1)

Before that we used Dos software & a Dos eprom.

Re: Denford Easiturn PNC3 - Motor Drive Fault X Axis

Have you powered up the drive?

As I remeber it you need to release the E-Stop button & then power up the drives before you are able to home them.

Re: Novamill, first time in cnc (Mach conversion)

You can also fit a link between connector 1 & 3 which will supply 10volts & run at top speed permanently.

Re: Lost zero parameters on Fanuc OT-B

If you press & hold the axis limit override switch in you should be able jog the axis away from the limit switch.

It may have been too close or past the datum switch when you homed it so you could try again with the axis away from the switch.

Re: Novamill, first time in cnc (Mach conversion)

The spindle speed is controlled by an analogue voltage on connectors 2 & 3. It's 0 - 10volts depending on requested speed & should come from the control card.
