Re: New problem

Can you remove the bellow on the right hand side & check the cable going to the X axis home switch is clear of the leadscrew as it moves. Just tried jogging it again and nothing happened this time. I took the right hand bellow off and the wire was wrapped around the lead screw. I’ve untangled it no...

Re: Small Internal Bores

I ended up editing the program after to make the 10mm only go in to the depth of the point instead of the diameter. In aluminium disabling the 10mm would be fine but in Stainless or Titainium it would have to do a lot of passes and probably wear the tool out quite quickly. Thanks for all your help s...

Re: New problem

I’ll have to get a look under that plate when I get a chance. As you can see it all looks clear at least.

Re: New problem

It stopped the Z axis but the readout carried on moving until it reached where it was supposed to be. My guess (not knowing how the stepper is connected to the lead screw) is that a belt has skipped or a connector that is held on my grubscrew has broken loose. It does the same at the home position u...

New problem

Got most of the way through my first part, everything went well and then as the grooving/parting tool came to inline with the front of the part there was a loud vibration and no more travel in the Z axis. The same tool had already travelled past this point earlier to groove out the back of the part ...

Re: Homing Downwards Now!

Done. It took about 2 hours total but it’s sorted. Spindle speed was working after checking the fuse so that’s not an issue. E-stop relay has one burnt contact though so that might need sorting in the near future. Fault was the wire came off the limit switch, it was a terrible loose crimp so I tight...

Re: Homing Downwards Now!

Might have found the issue, looks to have lost the connection on the limit switch. Can’t easily see to put it back on though

Re: Homing Downwards Now!

I think I remember the actual spindle speed being 0 too when it was spinning up.

Homing Downwards Now!

Finally got to the point of setting the new tools. Set two and then sent it home to change to the next tool, Z axis homed correctly as before but now X goes down until it hits the bottom of the machine. If I manually jog it into position it knows when to stop as it hits 0.000 but I press to home X o...

Re: Small Internal Bores

Just worked out that even though it was disabled the CAM was trying to use the original 8mm boring bar  so that tool data was deleted and now its using the carbide boring bar. I also made the changes you did and it has managed a successful simulation. Only one issue, the drill drills past the ...

Re: Small Internal Bores

That’s great, thanks. New GPU is here now so I just need to set up everything and hopefully I’ll get to try it over the next day or two.

Re: Small Internal Bores

This is the data I used for the tool. Can’t take a picture of the data on the PC as it’s down awaiting a new GPU tomorrow.

Small Internal Bores

Is there any way to get the CAM to make a bore smaller than 10mm? The software won't bore as it comes up saying its smaller than 10mm. I've programmed the Micro Boring Bar info into the tool library and managed something that looks approximately correct. The tool is 3.5mm Dia at the cutting tip (.1 ...

Re: Turn 270 Pro General questions

Managed to get a micro boring bar holder made up, I might have gone a tad overboard taking it to 19mm 🤣. Made from an old offcut of 20mm boring bar. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a few test pieces made up over the next week off work…

Turn 270 Pro General questions

Hi, I’ve just picked up a Turn 270 Pro to tinker with in my shed. I’m a CNC Turner by profession so it’s not new to me, having used mainly Fanuc machines most of this is familiar. A few questions and info requests: -First of all I’ve had the machine up and running and managed to set the tools and pr...
