Puling 12v/5v off Micromill/Microturn
I'm in the process of converting a micromil/microturn to Mach3 The conversion is all good but sadly the Breakout board requires two power sources a 5V and a 12v supply. Anyone got a good way of going about this? I've got the original Baldor board still in there and I'm driving everything off the pin...

Selling Denford Micromill and Microturn
Got them as a pair, didn't get the Denford software so converted them both to grbl, Comes with the original boards too. I was hoping to use them a lot more than I have, I have replaced the lights on them too so they're nice and visible. I've got as far as moving the axis's on my pc but that's about ...

The issue was that the spin enable wire needed moving to GND then the spindle will start!

Re: Converting microturn/micromill to manual spindle control(Help needed)
Update: I went ahead and did the wiring change, started up the machine (There is no controller board on at the moment (ontop of the Baldor board) turned the key and tried the spindle override and nothing.. (Board does have on light on) Anyone got any ideas? Is there something I'm missing/holding me ...

Re: Converting microturn/micromill to manual spindle control(Help needed)
I was about to wire it when I've noticed the cable has a green one coming out of it going to AGND, which then goes into AIN2- and AIN1- too, Should I just keep this where it is or remove it?
Image added (red wire is the spindle wiper)
Blue is feed wiper which will no longer be used

Converting microturn/micromill to manual spindle control(Help needed)
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew the wiring for getting the spindle to be solely controlled by the spindle override at the front of the machine? I know it's been done before and have seen guides but not for the board I currently have (Photo of the board added below) Any help would be appreciat...

Parallel Licence issue
I can't seem to get my Parallel dongle to be recognised, I was wondering.. do I need an active device plugged into the back of it to be picked up from the VR software? This is my last straw on getting the software to work before ripping this machine apart. Is there any other methods I could use to g...

Re: Testing without software?
Hi Martin, I went back for fourth with Steve last night, it seems my parallel port licence wouldn't be used on the v2/v5 software, although he did confirm that my board is suitable to run up to v5. (photos are in a link a few posts up) Sadly he informed me that it would of probably been a flash code...

Re: Testing without software?
You are correct, I keep getting them two mixed up all the time :) It is one that said computer, I got in contact with denford and didn't really get very far, they won't reissue the licence as I'm not the original owner, even if I do have the dongle. I'm waiting on a usb to parrallel port coming tomo...

Re: Testing without software?
I've managed to dig out a machine with a serial port and given my serial dongle a try, I haven't managed to get anywhere.. This is a February 2002 machine, is there any drivers or any way I can check the serial adaptors? It seems it's connecting to the machine but I have checked device manager and s...

Re: Testing without software?
Thanks for the reply, seems they aren't in stock around the UK, I was told that serial device looking thing is the licence for the software? Is that true? Will I need another for the lathe or can I just survive on one? They are February 2002 if I remember correctly, I'd really appreciate some availa...

Added photos,
It came with no cables, can I use a standard or do I need to make a special one?
I've got a fairly new pc, should I get a PCI to serial or a usb to serial?

Testing without software?
Hi all, I've recently acquired a micro mill and micro lathe Before I start converting the machines, I was wonder if there's a possible way to test the functionality of the machines? I'm not wanting to cut something up, literally just move all axis's and fire up the spindle? Even if it's for a brief ...
