Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand

Just an update for anyone who comes across this thread and has the same problems. I did two jobs today, one over an hour long, plus finished a long job the other night with no "device driver call fail" problems at all??? So far, so good. It hasn't dropped out once. This after it dropped out after ar...

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand

I have the Kress spindle. I changed USB ports on the computer, and came home and finished running a long program I have been trying to complete, and it finished it with no drop out. I'm going to do some today and see how I get on too. If I continue having problems that will be my next port of call, ...

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand

Tried plugging direct into the board, and changed the cable, and it worked for a while, the longest it has since its been doing this, but then cut out with the same error again!!! I notice when I leave the machine connected and homed but in idol mode it will stay connected, it only really drops out ...

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand

Hi Guys, Thanks for your quick replies as always. Tried replacing the USB cable today, and still causing problems. Reinstalled the VR Milling software from scratch, and still dropping out. It's really strange, as it was working perfectly until yesterday???? I can't think what is different? Could it ...

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand

New day, new problems!!!!! I was using a borrowed laptop to run my VR Milling software from. I eventually bought the laptop from my friend and took the laptop back to factory settings, and reinstalled everything (as if it were brand new). I reinstalled my VR Milling software, and the device drivers....

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand

Thanks for your help so far. I tried looking for that vacuum pump on eBay, but most are based in America. The price of them is reasonable, but then they want $150 of shipping and import tax, making the price ridiculously inflated. I don't know a lot about vacuum pumps, so not sure what alternatives ...

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand

Have now bought the vacuum table as was only £25, ex display model, and as they are discontinued it is hard to know when they will come up again so at that price it seemed a no brainer. I would be really interested on advice for a suitable, affordable, vacuum pump and more info on how to connect it ...

PS Thought there were pictures further up the post of my machine, but it's just the black cabinet!! If you need pictures to understand the amateur nonsense I'm spouting, please just ask!

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand

A Trend Mini Mach has become available at a reasonable price, but before I purchase, what would I need to connect it to my machine? My machine has a valve on the right hand side (pictures further up the post) with red switch\lever, this runs to a pipe under the machine and up into the cabinet, via t...

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand

Update: Located the nuts and marked the top of each on the gantry, then wound them out and cleaned them. There was a fair bit of muck in there, but not too bad. I then put them back (hopefully as they were). I then re cleaned the whole machine thoroughly with paint brushes of varying sizes and a vac...

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand

Hi Pete, Your daily pain in the arse here. This isn't the first time this has happened, but tonight when adjusting the screw for the Y axis (for the aforementioned problem\teething issue), I jogged the machine forward after homing. Moved the nut\bolt, then when pressing home again after a few trys, ...

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand

Spot on Pete, the maximum travel is 270mm x 550mm. I saw the bolt but didn't want to mess with it. That makes sense. So if I move it out, the machine will still recognise that it needs to move 270mm in the opposite direction. I think I have room to play with on that front, if that's the case. Thank ...

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand

Hi Guys, Sorted the door issue, and got VR milling Ver 5 and a copy of Aspire 9.5. I have made successful cuts, including a threaded spoil board and an engraving, and everything works great! Thank you for all your help so far. The emergency lock issue is no longer an 'issue' as I took the lock mecha...

Re: Micro Router 2nd Hand

Also, when I first started VR Milling the software wouldn't let me jog the 'real' machine or turn the spindle on because it was saying the "guard was open". I checked the lock, and shut the door again, still the same message. I reset the software and hit and reactivated the emergency stop button and...

Micro Router 2nd Hand

Hi Guys, Thinking of purchasing this Micro Router 2nd hand. Came from a college sale. I tried plugging it in when viewing it and the light\fan\electric door lock\emergency stop button worked, but I can't test it fully without the VR CNC software. It has a USB coming out of the back (See picture), a ...
