What alloy are you machining and have you successfully machined it before. I ask because I machine parts from 6061 T6 from time to time and normally don't use any lubricant and it machines fine but a few years ago I got some from a local supplier that was very soft and gummy and even with lubricant...

Cutter Clogging Issues Machining Aluminium

We're having issues machining 20mm holes in 2mm aluminium plate using a 6mm two flute end mill. I've had a look through the forum and tried all of the various settings recommended on other posts but no matter what I try the cutter clogs up and ends up dragging it's way through the plate. Hi, I've had a search through the forum and can't seem to find a solution to my issue. Trying to import a .dxf file into QuickCAM 2D from Illustrator (or AutoCAD or Solidworks) and nothing seems to be happening.
