Re: Denford Easy hange Touch Measuring Probe

Ive finally figured out how to Input something like this to my controller board.

Are you still making them?

Also are they a mechanical switch rather than a grounding connection? , im sure i should be able to work that out from the digram but hey.

Re: spindle causing steppers to jog

i wanted to say i figured this out. its very basic conversion and whoever did it used a 5v out off the denstep board to power the spindle v5 board. The denstep manual says don't power anything like this off the board. so a cheap dc psu later and all is well. Soon i'll get round to more advanced conv...

Re: Relays and power supplies

Second question then, as I said power supplies, i'm trying to understand what these supplies are. or rather what it is they drive. i got some way with it. the 110v seems to power another 24v transformer. 28 volts to the smart step 240v to ?? some of the replays so far. if I touch one side of the Mul...

Re: Where ToGet Replacement Parts For Novamill

Hi mate, the belt for the y axis is a timing belt type t5, available at most part shops. measure the length of it. at a guess it will be 200mm . so T5 -200.

You wont buy the Gib strip off the shelf unless you are lucky, have one made though. i dont know the dimensions though sorry.

Wanted VMC 1300 /or 1300 pro

Ive only just become aware of this machine.
So if anyone has one they'd like to sell i'm interested at the right price.
Either the 1300 or 1300 pro, id be happy with either.

cheers

Re: Balluff Proximity switch sale

We have some stock of Balluff proximity switches BI00401A I believe they have been used for home detectors on older Denford machines (Triacs, Easimills, Easiturns, NovaMills and possibly Orac) They are brand new, but UNTESTED (so, no complaints if they don't work, although there's no reason why the...

Re: Novamill Column Raising Block

Hi FGC, only just seen this sorry, i'm hoping you figured it out. I disconnected the wires to all the steppers etc from the main plug to allow me the slack i needed for lifting the column. shims I used were brass shim of varied thickness. a piece of ground glass and a dti to check in every direction...

Re: Triac rebuild - balluff sensor, limit and home

My Mistake, its not connected to estop, after a double check I had my wires crossed it isnt connected to anything as it stands at the moment. On reflection today I believe it should be connected to to oiler system which would make sense. I need another for the x axis, well i dont need one but id lik...

Re: Triac rebuild - balluff sensor, limit and home

I hoped it was an rpm sensor :) Its in the head block itself next to and pointed at the spindle just below the belt wheel. Ive traced the wiring and it does seem to be wired to the estop which is odd or maybe a mistake. This machine has seen some rewiring and had servos fitted in its long life. I do...

Thanks, I assume the sensor in the head by the spindle is for something else then?

Triac rebuild - balluff sensor, limit and home

I have a here an Old Triac, that i'm gradually putting back together. It seems to be missing its X axis bracket which holds the limit, home and Balluff sensor I have the illustration for it. Just spent and hour looking at how it is wired it seems to be Home one end and limit the other, but all the o...

Re: Baldor Nextstep Step and Direction pins - 96way connecto

Digging up an old thread! :)

I have a novamill converted a while back. I dont have any of the grounds connected as Rotary E states above.

I do however have some noise issues on the steppers and i'm wondering if this may be the cause.

If max RPM is not too much of an issue you may be better setting it at 2800RPM

Will do thanks for the help Steve

Re: spindle causing steppers to jog

Hi If the spindle is running over speed by too much turning down the pot will will correct the RPM but as a lower voltage is creating the same top speed the current into the motor will increase. Various things can cause demagnetization. Over current, repeated stalling, over voltage and running over...
