Re: Latest new guy

Hello Newbie (you didn't post your name!)
The manuals above this section list the Mirac lathe at 705lbs so its a little heavier than you thought and could be a 4 man lift or even a forklift job.

homing the machine microrouter v3

I have my microrouter up and running now after having my Nextstep board repaired. One of the problems when it wasn't working properly was that the z and y Axis numbers kept going up until they timed out. The Z axis is sitting at -1749.111 and the Y axis is at 103.746 for programme position when the ...

Re: V3 not working since upgrade

Well its been a we while but at last my machine is up and running. The fault turned out to be several components and some blown tracks. As my technician has never worked on the machine before, no circuit diagrams available, living 20 miles away and being very busy all contributed to the delay. Needl...

Re: Wanted: Baldor F391 board

Hi Martin, yes it is. It turns out that this board was made exclusively for Denford so I can either buy a new one or hopefully get a second hand one if anyone has one that isn't used anymore.

Re: V3 not working since upgrade

We have checked the boards and the bottom L298 is knackered as can be seen on the photo. We havent had the board out to check if anything else is blown or whether this has caused the fuse to blow. Dont know if one component can stop all the steppers from working. What would be the best way forward. ...

Re: V3 not working since upgrade

This is the first time I have tried to use it since it got upgraded in the end of March. I will ask the next door technician to check it out as it is getting a bit complicated for me. If it doesn't look like a bit of wood it is beyond my pay grade generally!

Re: V3 not working since upgrade

Hi Martin The fuse in the top photo is the one that has blown. The technician in the workshop door has checked everything and reckons the two bridge rectifiers on either side of it could be on their way out. He is away till Friday and has asked if I can take the board out in order for him to replace...

Re: V3 not working since upgrade

Just checked the fuses. The fuse on the top board is blown! Hopefully replacing it will cure all the problems ok.

Thanks

Re: V3 not working since upgrade

Hi Main The router doesn't move on any of the axis physically, on on VR Milling 5. The movement on there keeps going up till there is a timeout message appearing. I cant see any ribbon cable and I am not sure what an IDC plug is. I have checked every plug visible to me to sure it is secure and I did...

V3 not working since upgrade

Got my V3 Microrouter fully upgraded down in Halifax in March of this year. As I have been a bit busy since and also waiting for a T slot table to be made in Germany, I haven't switched it on since. Boots up ok but its not working. The router doesn't home properly and when I click on home (VR5 milli...

what size is the t slot table

What size is the t slot table that was originally supplied with the routers and how are they attached to the aluminium rails. Looking to get one shortly and I dont want to have to reinvent the wheel if necessart.

Many thanks

Re: Machine capabilities

Just googled the model no to find out it is the 1.5hp model. Very pleased. That has made my day. I just assumed as it came with the 1/4 inch collet that it was the 0.5 hp model. So instead of spending 500 quid I will only have to spend 30 quid to get the half inch collet!

Re: Machine capabilities

Got a photo of it here. Physicsally it doesnt look like a 1.5hp router and the plate on the contol box does say 0.6hp. It came from a school so I dont think it would have been upgraded as it was hardly ever used.

Re: Machine capabilities

Hi martin, I have the silver toggled switch on my router. Looked at it last night and saw where the router plugs into the electrics. That might be the easy bit to swap over!

Re: Machine capabilities

Hi martin, thanks for the info. I will try this later on today when I am back in the workshop. A mate did also suggest swapping out the router for the bigger model. Is it ok to do that and is it just a case of swapping them over or is there a bit more to it than that. I am a bit new to this but keen...

Machine capabilities

According to the book the y axis parameter should be 320m but when I am moving it to the fullest extent it only moves 270mm. I checked the parameters and as can be seen on the photo it is listed as 270mm. Can it be changed to 320mm and is it just a case of altering the 270mm number to 320 in the cap...
