Backlash and Gib adjustment
This weekend I'm looking to spend some time trying to adjust my Starmill to remove backlash predominantly on the X-Axis, but also to adjust if necessary the gib strip. I previously tweaked the gib having removed the stepper drive belt and run the table by hand-rotating the driven pulley to feel for ...

Re: Wanted: ISO35 tool holders
It seems you haven't had any response on the forum, have you obtained any BT35 chucks or tooling ? Emgee I managed to get a MT2 adaptor, but with a MT2-ER25 collet holder I lost too much working height. I've since got a BT35-ER32 collet holder and a set of collets, which I think should cover my imm...

Re: Wanted BT35 tool holders
What tooling?
I can point you to someone that sold me a ER32 collet holder - he has DA180s as well, I think. I've a DA200 collet holder that I have no use for, and a MT2 that I'm unlikely to need.

Re: Excessive spindle run-out
@Martin, cheers for replying - I've ordered a 58mm C-Spanner to give this a try. Any clue as to how tight this nut should be? 4 white-knuckles?

Excessive spindle run-out
I've recently bought a rather modified StarMill, originally with ATC but this was removed prior to me, and converted to Mach3. As part of the modification the previous owner rebuilt the bearings. I've measured the run-out at the tool-tip and I'm getting 0.2mm( ), and even at the spindle hold...

Wanted: ISO35 tool holders *** NOW SORTED! ***
Location UK: North West. I've just bought a Starmill, converted to standard parallel interface (Mach3/EMC style), which was supplied with a tool holder, BT35-DA208-060M, which I understand to be an ISO35 / BT35 spindle, clamping DA200 collets. Not so sure about the 060M marking. Now, looking at the ...
