Re: Spindle drive connection
Checked my motor the info on it reads as follows - MAKE - ASEA 3Phase - 50hz IEC34 IP54 MT71B-F85-4 Class F 0.37Kw 380/380-420VY 1.3A 1400r/min 220/220-240V 2.3A No.1470779 CoS 0.69 Correct me if I'm wrong but the motor power is 0.37kw, so this one should suit the motor - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/...

Re: Spindle drive connection
The 0-10v is an analogue signal, isnt it?, as I think the original setup I had, before trying the step/dir setup used to run just on a on/off m3 signal and a 0-10v for the speed. I have read from another user, who has a linux controller in his triac and that runs just on m3 command and 0-10v. So run...

Re: Spindle drive connection
Roy @ diycnc said it would be cheaper to repair than buying a new one and to post it to him, so he might be able to fix. I will look at the cost of sending the unit, as obv it is reasonably weighty, but I would really like to keep the original controller. You wouldnt have any old spare controllers l...

Re: Spindle drive connection
I'll have a look later and note the motor type and spec but it's from an '86 pnc3.
I have take the spindle drive out, and it looks like there are 3 white rectangular ceramic (things??) that have blown apart. What would the possibility of getting the whole drive repaired and refurbished?

Re: Spindle drive connection
That's brilliant thank you.
Is correct that, that one runs from pwm signals, how would that integrate into my current setup?
Or is there one that uses step/dir?

Re: Spindle drive connection
Well I had it running, M3 and M4 were initially reversed but still V pleased it was running, until .......... The spindle drive gave up!!!! In a puff of smoke and a few sparks :ReallyMad: Can only assume it was down to it's age. Don't know how much damage has been done, but assume it is ruined. It w...

Re: Spindle drive connection
Mach3 states - 5.3.6.3 Motor Control Check Use Spindle Motor Output if you want to use PWM or Step and Direction control of the spindle. Step and Direction Motor This can be a variable-speed drive controlled by step pulses, or a full servo drive. It doesnt say anywhere that the step is a pwm signal ...

Re: Spindle drive connection
Nope, that didnt work in my step/direction setup. Can anyone post a copy of their setup in mach3 for a step/direction running spindle motor, as I did however manage to get the spindle running through mach 3 via the relay control setup using M3, but I had no control of the speed via mach3 it just sta...

Re: Cutting PLywood
Speeds and feeds dont really come into play with ply, there is very little resistance from it, we cut alot of ply at 6000rpm and 4000 m/min 3mm depth of cut. You best source of a good cut is to use a down cut tool, ie instead of a normal end mill the flutes rotate upward, with a down cutter the flut...

The manual states on pg24 ( 0v signal- not to confuse pin 32c with 16/18 as 32c is not a power signal) can I still connect 32 to 16 or 18?

Silly question but is 0v and ground the same????

digiplan sd drivers
Now onto wiring up the step and direction..... I have given up the attempt to wire through the 16w ribbon, the gsm manual not providing enough info. Have had a look through the digiplan manual, and would like confirmation that pins 26c and 32c are the correct pins to solder direct to for step and di...
