Exploded diagram of the mechanics

I need to remove the Z axis from my microrouter to fit a completely different spindle motor.
Is there an exploded diagram of the mechanical components of the microrouter available for download anywhere?

Re: Converting an old Microrouter to LinuxCNC/EMC2

Just in case anyone else ever considers doing the same and finds this thread...... I've now completed the "upgrade". I replaced almost all the electronics in the big black box with a new 24V 15A switched mode PSU and a 3 axis stepper drive board that connects to the parallel port. I got them both fr...

Re: Converting an old Microrouter to LinuxCNC/EMC2

No it suddenly appeared on all 3 axis. I've had stalling problems before and it's not like that, although I have gone through the motions of cleaning a lubricating with silicone spray.
I've bitten the bullet and have now ordered parts for the conversion.....

Re: Converting an old Microrouter to LinuxCNC/EMC2

Thanks very much for your helpful reply, but I did the firmware upgrade that you suggest when I first received the machine.

Converting an old Microrouter to LinuxCNC/EMC2

Hi I have an old Microrouter, which when I acquired it from a school was working. Since then, the motor has failed (brushes), then the motor control board. Since this was too expensive to replace, I simply fitted an ordinary hand router with manual speed control. This worked to my satisfaction. Now ...

Re: X axis stalling at high speeds

Thank you both for your replies.
The manuals that you referred me to are the reason that I originally joined this forum, but was sadly unable to find them; until you just pointed them out! So thanks.
I've just ordered my silicone lubricant..........

Re: X axis stalling at high speeds

Thanks for your reply Martin.
I'm new to CNCing; I've only had it for a few short months. Could you please explain in a little more detail exactly what is involved in "remove and clean both nuts" please? Or refer me to a document/website that give more details.
Thanks in anticipation.

X axis stalling at high speeds

Hi I have a second hand Microrouter that was working fine. Now, the X axis has started stalling on the first 8 inches of travel away from the home position when moved at full speed. If I jog at 2000, it stalls. If I jog at 1500 it moves fine. Once I've cleared the first 8 inches or so, I can jog at ...

Re: PC 3102 HD Brushes in the UK in a rush

In case it's useful to any US users, or anyone prepared to wait 15-30 days for delivery, I believe that this(http://www.ereplacementparts.com/brush-p-60335.html) is the correct part.

PC 3102 HD Brushes in the UK in a rush

Hi I've just got a second hand Microrouter, and 4 minutes into my first test job, the spindle motor starting arcing, then stopped. :-( I've taken it apart and although one of the brushes is fine, the other one is at the minimum which would explain the behaviour. So I need a new set of brushes for a ...

From STL to FNC cheaply or for free

I've just purchased a second hand microrouter and am strugling to get it going. I create my 3D designs using FreeCAD; this can export in many formats including STL. I therefore need a piece of software that will take my 3D STL design and turn it into NC codes that VR Milling understands. I am aware ...

Information and cutters

I have just acquired a second hand MicroRouter. Thanks to this forum, I have found the quick start guide and the wiring diagram. Is there a more comprehensive user guide available for the microrouter? And if there isn't, can you please advise what sort of cutters I need please? (I should mostly be s...
