Re: Desktop Tutor .keys file information

Went to Steve's site had some e-mail correspondance back and forth.

What steve has is wonderful, however it is much more than I need.

I would prefer to get the cnctutor.exe and cncturn.exe files if possible.

Re: Desktop Tutor .keys file information

I know that we WOULD have had a 6 user license. That is why we have 6 VR mill licenses, 6 tutor keyboards, and 6 tutor manuals. Were the dongles ever embedded into a 25 to 9 pin adapter? Really hoping I can get my hands on this software. This would answer a LOT of my problems. BTW, steve's site is p...

Re: Desktop Tutor .keys file information

You said "Pretty sure that's the CNC Tutor software (unfortunately named the same as our desktop tutor keyboards)" Are you saying that that software had nothing to do with the tutor keyboards? Wow, no wonder I am so confused. I thought the software in this manual was a windows based version that wou...

Re: Desktop Tutor .keys file information

Still working on the Tutor keyboards without success. Attached is a copy of the manual I have. I do not have the software for this. It looks like it is windows software of some sort, but the manual never says anything about software. Does anyone know what software this manual is referencing? (...

Re: Desktop Tutor .keys file information

As you can see with the attached word document I am a bit confused at what I want. Let me explain what I am trying to do. I have a MicroMill 2000 already attached to a QWERTY keyboard and working fine. I want to hook one of my 6 tutor keyboards to the machine to give a better feel of a controller. I...

Re: Desktop Tutor .keys file information

The link below is to a pdf file of a .keys map of VR Turning Tutor keys.

Where can I purchase this actual skin that will go into my tutor key pads. The only difference is I need one for VR milling as well as turning.

Re: Convert A Sherline over to VR Milling.

Kind of figured that, but thanks for the run down. When it comes time to purchase again....knowing why Denford machines are more expensive will help me to sell/justify the cost. Thanks. PS I would be SOL  without this forum. Thanks to you and the Denford company for keeping the forum alive and ...

Re: Micro Mill Motor Speed

Based on what you said and the wiring diagram, I found that the wires were hooked to 1 and 3 rather than 1 and 2. Put them on the right terminals and it now works correctly. Thanks for your help

Convert A Sherline over to VR Milling.

I have a Micromill 2000 with vr milling. Excellent combination to start students on. The school bought two Sherline 5400 mills (as opposed to Denford) because they are so much cheaper. The Sherlines have Linux OS with EMC2 control software. This would be ok for a hobby guy at home. But trying to tea...

Re: Micro Mill Motor Speed

Ok, here are some photos I did verify that the spindle over ride knob does move the slider on the computer. It doesn't change the spindle speed, but the potentiometer part of it is working. When using a M03 with any S command, I get what I think is full RPM Spindle reguardless of where the knob is s...

Micro Mill Motor Speed

Out Micromill 2000 has a spindle motor in it marked Sherline. The spindle M03/M05 works under program control, however the S command does nothing, nor does the spindle speed over-ride on the front of the machine. Is this spindle motor a fixed speed? If so, what is the rpm if using the top set of pul...

Re: MicroMill and Control Keyboard

Excellent. So I just need a system with 2 serial ports...com1 and com2, yes?

Then.... which software would I pick to run that tutor keyboard to be most compatiable with the micromill?

Are you saying this is just not possible.

Micromill directional control.

I upgraded my micromill VR Milling software to version 2.3.

Since then it will not let me jog any two axis at the same time with the computer keyboard.

It used to jog x and y together if you pressed both buttons.

Anyone know how to fix this?

MicroMill and Control Keyboard

We have a micromill 2000 that is run via serial port.

Can I use one of my denford "desktop tutor" control keyboards to run my micromill?

If so, how would I do this since the micro mill only has 1 serial port.

Re: Denford Tutor

Looked at my Tutor keypads today. I have 5 for Fanuc mill and 1 for Fanuc Lathe.

I will download the Fanuc DOS and just keep trying till I get the right one.

Incedently, is this truly DOS, or can I run in 98 or XP under a DOS window?

Thanks. This Forum is awsome.

Re: Denford 30 day training program

I am in the USA. This is for Milling. We have a Micromill 2000. I am using VR 2.3.something to run the machine. Looking for something to keep the students busy for a bit longer till I get my act together. I am missing the full part 1 manual (the one the students use). I have the full Part 2 and the ...

Denford 30 day training program

I have a Denford 30 day training program. It has a part 1 and part 2 book (for the students). I am missing the full part one book. Does anyone have one? Also did this particular material have Disk's with it? My 10 day training has several disk's with it. Not sure if the 30 day one is software driven...

Denford Tutor

I have 6 of these machine control keyboards that plug into the back of a computers old style serial port.
I have the manuals too.

I am lacking the software. Does anyone know anything about what software this need, or where to get it?
