Does anyone have the exact part number for the NovaTurn encoder or data sheet?
I should be posting video of the NovaTurn AC soon.
Thanks,

Re: NovaTurn Servo retrofit AMD Gizmosphere iBOB2 PCIe x1
I have been working on a design based on the iBOB2 and Gizmosphere 1. The Dimensions of the GQ1 are Width 6.79", Height 6.61" and Depth 10.29". It has 6 axis of +- 10V analog servo control and all I/O are available on 2 DB50 and 1 DB 25 connector. The RJ45 is for a pendant interface. It could also b...

Re: NovaTurn Servo retrofit AMD Gizmosphere iBOB2 PCIe x1
This is what I have in mind for the control panel. I hope to build my own tool changer and C axis. The Gizmosphere will eventually be located inside this cabinet. The cabinet was not available when I started initial design work. The DC drive is a 4 quadrant "servo motor" drive. I welcome any comment...

Re: NovaTurn Servo retrofit AMD Gizmosphere iBOB2 PCIe x1
Assembly drawing ST6_0700 shows a # 2MT taper inside part # ST5/703, are the dimensions of this part available? In addition, is part ST5/704 a brushing / bearing? After a little research, just figured out the part is a "Morse Taper Socket Adapter". I will try this model and adjust as needed; http://...

Re: NovaTurn Servo retrofit AMD Gizmosphere iBOB2 PCIe x1
not much metal left on the inner wall of those slots! I'm sure you have thought about that. Good work! Thanks for the comments. I am trying to make as little modifications as possible. The piece is 1/4" aluminum and is very strong. When I get the Triac retrofitted, I may redo the parts in steel. Th...

Picture of iBOB2. The iBOB2 turns the Gizmosphere 1 into a powerful CNC controller. You can attach Mesa cards, parallel port cards or any PCIe compatible card.

Re: NovaTurn Servo retrofit AMD Gizmosphere iBOB2 PCIe x1
Just finished the new X axis servo motor plate. I used my converted Sherline Mill with DC servo amplifiers that I built/designed a few years ago. If anyone is interested, please let me know. Most of the initial work is posted on CNCZONE under Iron-Man Servo. I will be powder coating the parts. I hav...

Re: Triac vs Novamill, which would you purchase ?
I have been searching for a Novamill for some time now. One has become available but I have also found an older Triac. I like the smaller size of the Novamill but the Z axis is very limited. I would like to know what are the real trade-offs of a Triac vs Novamill. I will be starting a retrofit to A...

Re: Triac vs Novamill, which would you purchase ?
Thanks for all the replies. The machine is like the one listed on this site. It does not have the TV monitor. From what I was told and could inspect, it was hardly used. There were no sign of any rust etc.
Thanks all;
