Easiturn control cabinet removal
I'm trying to take the control cabinet off the top of my Easiturn. Re: Orac Spindle Speed
You need simplify your testing. Operate the VFD from its front panel and step the speed up from there. Set the display for motor current and check it isn't getting too high. The motor data plate is for 415v Y or Star connection. It's actually connected in Delta for 240v and you need to multiply the ...

Re: Finally upgraded my Orac
There really aren't any remaining parts of the original control electronics. I've really only re-used the main toroidal transformer, bridge rectifiers and smoothing capacitors. You're probably right on the stepper driver number. I chose it mostly on it's voltage rating as my Orac stepper supply meas...

Re: Orac spindle nose taper
As far as I've been able to find out it is a variation of the DIN 55021 spindle nose standard. However, the taper is the same on all sizes; 7 degrees, 7 minutes and 30 seconds, or 7.125 degrees....

Re: Orac spindle nose taper
Since the Orac is based on the Emco Compact 8, the spindle nose is probably the same and based on DIN 55021
