Re: X drive belt specification Micro-router

I figured it out. Should have noticed right away. T5 is a spacing standard and 1000 refers to MM. So its a T5 belt, 1m long and 6mm wide.

Re: Microrouter V3 with Denstep via Serial port Vr Milling 2

I don't think this is something to resolve. My micro-router V3 (black control box with denstep) which I just got working again runs 32mins on the same test. I don't think it can run any faster than that.

I think its time to replace this control with something more capable

X drive belt specification Micro-router

I was hoping you guys could help me out. Old Microrouter 2001 vintage, serial number 00096. X axis drive belt stretched. I need to purchase new one. First, is this imperial or a metric belt? O.K. well since the G76 route will not work well for me I tried a G32 but the control reads the Z axis wrong and goes the wrong direction, heading instead all the way back to home in the Z. Is there another method, other than the G76 I can use? Please! without a fix I essentially have no threading c...

Thank you Steve and Denford Admin! I appreciate all your help. First, the offset of .2mm will come in handy as it has not been cutting my threads deep enough. I have spent easily 60hrs just testing the threading cycle. The pieces I am running now are just tests of what the machine can do and to get ...

Still having issues with G76

I am still having intermittent issues with G76 threading. As a test I threaded a 1.5'' bar with an 18 TPI using this code. N140 G99 G97 F0.055 S500 N150 M03 N160 M08 N170 G00 X1.53 Z0.03 N180 G76 P010060 Q15 R0.0005 N190 G76 Z-0.5 X1.4339 P764 Q38 F0.0555 Worked great as far as I could tell. Now, tr...

what is the control on a Novaturn?

Just a quick question.

What is the control on a Novaturn. Is it just based on Fanuc or is it a one of the other fanuc controls such as 10t, OT etc.

I am tweaking the post for my machine and just wanted to make sure.

Thanks!

thanks you for your help. The root of this issue, I believe, is the main cause of almost all issues. Human error. I think I was just screwing up. I had not only the offsets incorect but considering the diameter of the part I was turning and the SFPM I had set, this was the correct RPM  :D

The version of VR Turning is 1.15.2.425 It is the red segmented display The DenMint chip reads 2.0B/10/S/B19-JD5 The speed on the machine has been acting oddly lately. The speed of the lathe does not match the display (verified by a laser tachometer). Now that the box is open I can vary the speed co...

That code at the end should have read a SFPM of 200 not 20. Sorry. I double checked and that is not why its running slowly. Has been exhibiting this behaviour for some time.

G96 Constant surface speed not working correctly for me.

The unit is a Novaturn 99 vintage. fully updated firmware and VR software. When programing a G96 CSS it works perfectly on the first tool no matter what tool number or offset but on the second tool it runs extremely slow (like 150rpm) Any combination of tools or offsets do this. Here is an example. ...

I was using the on screen reading.

I will check the actual speed with a laser tachometer and if neccesary adjust with the potentiometer in the control box.

Thanks for your help.

Novaturn RPM not matching program. Thoughts?

My Novaturn runs somewhat slower than programed RPM.

For instance, if I program 2000 RPM, it will run somewhere in the high 1700's

Any ideas on what I should look for or check out?

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it.

G76 giving an odd result

I am having trouble programing my NovaTurn for the G76 canned cycle. I don't know what it should look like on this machine so maybe you could help.
